Juliana Bikes has just announced the new Nevis carbon hardtail for women riders. Given the company’s co-existence with Santa Cruz Bikes, you’d assume that it holds many similarities to the Santa Cruz Highball (reviewed in the current issue of Singletrack Magazine), but there are enough differences to make it worth a look.
It’ll come with 27.5in wheels (there’s a 29in version of the Highball, but not the Nevis) and the sizing is exactly the same as the Highball 27.5, however, all of the contact points are made more appropriate, so there are smaller diameter Juliana dot grips, women-specific Juliana saddles “Designed by women, for women, to ensure a day in the saddle won’t feel like one.” and shorter cranks on the smaller sizes. The Highball already has a low standover, so the smallest size Nevis boasts a 28in (71cm) standover height.
The good news is that the bikes are in stock at UK importers, Jungle, and the prices are exactly the same as the Santa Cruz Highball.
PRICE:
Nevis C R – £2399
Nevis C S – £2799
Nevis CC frame only £1699
Nevis CC complete bikes starting at £3699
Available in the UK now from Jungle.
In line with Santa Cruz now, the frames all carry a Lifetime warranty and a crash replacement warranty.

So its a Santa cruz with different grips and saddle then. Calling it a separate brand strikes me as a triumph of marketing over substance

If I remember rightly quite a few years ago Juliana Furtado got hit really bad by Limes disease, lack of awareness back then lead to a late diagnosis. Hows she doing now ?
