Santa may be busy with his elves but here in the pre-chrimbo idyll that is Todmorden life goes on. The delivery folk are all still turning up on our doorstep with plenty of test product to keep us going over the festival of beige food and endless TV repeats. It’s beginning to feel a lot like a riding holiday is here…
Specialized Camber EVO 29er
Mention it in your top ten and it will come, or at least that’s what Dave believes. With 120mm of travel front and rear for this ‘lightweight trail weapon’ (their words, not mine), the EVO has more travel, a wide handlebar, a short stem, and a large injection of GNAR compared to the regular Camber model. He can’t wait to get it muddy.
That’s a custom REBA RC on the front, fact fans. And the colour really is rather lovely.
Custom Fox CTD Evolution rear shock
The whole thing runs a 2×10 drivetrain based on SRAM’s X7 and X9 groupsets
…and that’s a very clean looking rear end. (not for long – BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA – Ed)
Vredestein Bobcat Tyres
Light and gnarly. These look just the ticket for ploughing over stuff in the winter months.
Castelli Rosso Corsa Support Bra
A cycling-specific sports bra for larger cup sizes (C and D cups).
Wildcat Gear Lioness bar bag
For adventure bikers everywhere, the Lioness adds a couple of litres of storage to the handlebars.
Wildcat Gear Helicopter tape
Price: from £17.50 for 600mm
Wildcat Gear Ocelot
Available in a range of sizes to suit your frame size, the Ocelot is a ‘partial frame bag’, designed so you can carry kit and still use waterbottles, should you so choose.
Price: £65 – £75 depending on size
All from: Wildcat Gear
The Ride Journal

From: The Ride Journal
Alpinestars Evolution Jacket
Protection and hydration in one package, the Evolution jacket is designed for enduro types who need to carry water, spares and food at the same time as trying not to fall off.
7 Mesh Revelation Jacket
Ultra-high end (think Arcteryx for bikers) biking jacket packed with bling and using Goretex Pro to ensure you could basically swim in it and remain dry*. It’s not out in the UK until next year though!
*possibly slight exaggeration
Price: £339 (eventually)
Broken Riders Hoodie
Celebrate the fail and keep warm/get an ASBO/get hugged by Cameron. Also available in Green Marl
From: Broken Riders
Giro Empire shoes
We’ve had some secret sauce orange ones in already, but these are the (much more tasteful – sorry, Chipps) production versions.
That’s it for this week, we’re all off to nurse or post office party hangovers around some Hebden Gnar…
