‘Cross is coming! What does your stem look like?

Victoire Cycles’ canti-ready stem- and beautiful mountain bikes

As much as we love the idea of disc brakes for anything ridden in the wet and the nasty, it’s hard to deny the appeal of this cable stopping stem from France’s Victoire Cycles.  Based in Clermont-Ferrand, France, Victoire fillet brazes frames in steel… and stainless steel.  Though the brand does offer two ‘cross models, this particular stem was built for a customer’s one-off travel-ready urban runabout.

So it's not a 'cross bike- but it's alright to imagine it on one.
Granted, it’s not a ‘cross bike-
but go ahead and use your imagination.

Not tied to the tarmac, Victoire also build some very nice looking mountain bikes.  Available with 26in, 27.5, or 29er wheels and configured for multiple gears or one, disc brakes or rim.  In essence, the bike pictured is a starting point- the company seems more than willing to accommodate whims.  Even fatbike whims.

If it had two legs, would it stand up?

Pricing for ‘cross bikes begins at €900 (£715), mountain bikes at €1190 (£945).
