Here’s the serious all mountain (SAM geddit?) bike from Focus. It’s a 160mm/160mm travel with a Fox 34 up front and Magura TS RC out back. With a 2×10 XT drivetrain, KS Lev and a Reynolds wheel set, we reckon it’s a pretty sorted bike for that confusing AM/Trail/Enduro overlapping venn diagram.

Hi ST i am looking to get the Focus sam 2 which you have just got your mits on 😉 what size is the one your going to test ? i currently ride a 17.5 xc bike ( im 5f 8″ ) so im a little stuck on sizing as the top tube on sam bikes are longggg so plz include as much in your review as poss plz… Thanks and i await your verdict 🙂

I wouldn’t normally want to buy a bike because of its name… but in this case 😉
I like that Pashley but I’m not sure I own any clothes suitable to wear while riding it.

To me that looks like a QR15 axle, so not 36’s?
No mention of the Focus being 650b. Is this wheel size now considered to be the norm?
Pashley needs briar pipe and/or tweed breeks. CFH?
The 27.5 on the tyres gives it away really.
Both of the bikes look very nice! Chips new toy looks especially impressive, I had to look iy up on Pashley’s website! Those Mavic pedals look remarkably similar to my Times!
PS I’ve had those bars on my wish list for a while, mm tasty!
