Tuesday Treats, week 59. We’re introducing some more British trailblazers; this time fork fettler’s and shock tweakers Loco Tuning.
Charlotte picks up the story…
Loco tuning was set up 3 ½ years ago, we provide servicing, tuning, and supply of suspension products, and are the UK Distributor for DSP racing (rear shocks and dropper posts) and IChu Titanium springs.
We’re also pleased to sponsor the Loco Racing team, a number of other riders in various fields, plus local clubs including Halfway Up MTB and Aberdare MTB. We also sponsor races such as Margam Madness.
We’re in the heart of the Valleys with trails everywhere, from natural to trail centre with Cwmcarn and Bike Park Wales very close by.
What’s your current best-selling/hottest product?
The new Rockshox Pike has been very popular, customers are lapping up the ‘murdered out’ looks of the solo air RCT3, however here at Loco Simon has ended up with white ones on his bike for some reason?!
Which product/brand does every staff member have on their bike?
We mostly run custom tuned Rockshox forks and either DSP racing Dueler or Fox rear shocks again custom tuned and the Duelers with Titanium springs.
What was the last custom build you did?
A custom build DSP Dueler (again!) for Simon’s frankenbike Trek Remedy, the eye to eye being shortened and the shock body machined and custom tuned to match the shorter travel than standard and the linkage of the bike.
Tell us something about your shop/staff that no-one knows…
Simon used to be a wine merchant so refreshment is usually pretty good quality at the races.
Shop race or shop ride?
Margam madness has just happened which we sponsored and raced at, we don’t have time to do shop rides as there’s so much work to be done!
