by singletrackjay 1

Avid competition loving fiends, let’s get ready to rumble. This week Tuesday Treats is brought to you from a true mountain biking mecca. You like your gradient mixed up with smatterings of rock, flowing singletrack and epic days in the saddle, don’t you? Whether you’re a trail centre lover or a natural trail connoisseur, our friends at Cyclewise are perfectly situated to make sure the amazing North Lakes are just right for you.

Our Premier Dealers continue to build a reputation that’s second to none in the generosity stakes – this week Cyclewise have offered up a prize-fest worth £260! Check ’em out…

This week, we introduce CYCLEWISE who are, in their own words…

Cyclewise are a purveyor of the finest offerings in MTB. We are also an integrated training centre for all things bike, workshop, bike hire and retail.

With Whinlatter’s Altura red and Quercus blue routes starting only 100 metres from our shop, it seems only right that you hit the trails with the best bikes, clothing and gear from top manufacturers. To help you on your way, we stock a vast selection of mountain bikes from Cube, Mondraker and Yeti, as well as clothing and gloves, for MenWomen and Children, from Altura, Royal, RaceFace and Polaris. If we don’t wear it or use it, we don’t stock it!

What’s your current best-selling/hottest product?

Without a doubt, Knox Armour Cross Knee Guards (RRP £49.99) and the Altura Mayhem Jacket (RRP £99.99)

Which product/brand does every staff member have on their bike?

Rapid Racing Products ‘Neo Guard’ front mud guards are essential for Lake District riding  and of course, Hope wheelsets which stand up to the hard riding here at Whinlatter and the surrounding landscape should be top of your shopping list.

What was the last custom build you did?

Custom builds aplenty

We have just finished building a Yeti sSB66 carbon, Fox 34 CTD with Kashima coated forks , SRAM X0 groupset, Formula The One brakes, Hope wheelset and Thomson finishing kit. Needless to say a very nice bike!

Tell us something about your shop/staff that no one knows…

There are no secrets here at Whinlatter, however whatever gossip that is going around is usually published on our monthly newsletter.

Is there a regular shop ride or forthcoming event you think our readers should know about?

All our trails here at Whinlatter are great fun and really well maintained by the Forestry Commission. Our favourite trail is the top of the South Loop (Red Grade), great views and a cool technical descent. On the weekend 23-24 March, Whinlatter Challenge is a 31 mile timed event, with over 600 hundred competitors and the day before is our Demo Weekend, with demo bikes from Cube, Mondraker and Yeti.

What do Singletrack Subscribers get from Cyclewise?

You can find all the latest news and offers from our website or our Facebook and Twitter pages. This year we have expanded out our Demo Fleet to include Yeti and Mondraker as well as our Cube bikes.  We’ve loads of 26″ and 29″ ( and even a 650b) bikes to test ride, so you can make your own mind up about the great wheel size debate.

Otherwise, why not try our Core Skills course?

Smiling faces are not optional essentials round these parts
