Do You SSUK?

by 14

ssukIt’s been a long time coming, and there have been a lot of obstacles to overcome – including a bit of a shift in location, but it’s finally been announced that SSUK 2010 will take place on the 13th – 15th August at Cwm Rhaeadr near Llandovery on the edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park, in Wales.

Cwm Rhaeadr is a purpose built trail centre which features a 4km descent. Weather proof trails, easily conquerable but satisfying climbs, stunning views and awesome single track will all come together to provide a great ‘race’ venue for all abilities. Camping is also only a stone’s throw away from the race venue – about 1 minute by bike!
Sponsors have already started to get involved, with Morvelo stepping up to design our logo and sort out event tees, Singletrack are the ‘official media partner’, Lynskey are providing a few super special prizes and Cotic, Singular and Bontrager have all pledged their support so far.

You don’t even need to remember to bring your own food – Luffy and the team from the Dropoff Cafe will be on hand all weekend to keep your hunger pangs at bay, and providing your past race nourishment as part of the entry fee.

Race day will be Saturday afternoon with a post race party after. It’ll be a usual single speed affair – the start will probably not quite be on time, we’ll probably move your bikes around, and we’re guessing that some of you may be starting the race feeling a little worse for wear. We can pretty much guarantee the most breathtaking beer stop of any event you’ve been to, but we can’t guarantee that we’ll remember the finishing places of anything other than the first few riders. But then again, that’s not why you’ll be coming to SSUK….
