Simon, that 3rd picture of yours is exceptional. Like you I love the photo topics but I've never seen that one of yours before. STW's Bruce Perry for sure 🙂

Here's my favourite ones from this year, took ages to get it down to 8, sorry! You don't seem to be able to do the click=big thing anymore so there's more photos here or here!.

Wow there are some great action shots here. I always struggled to take MTB pics on my Canon IXUS – they just came out blurred.

As for that pic 3 of mine, it was in Dumfries. I got up early for the summer solstice, and went to Lincluden Collegiate College (i.e. an old ruined monastery type place). I got really lucky with a break in the clouds and the sun came through bang on sun rise. Maybe 20 mins later and it was like a totally different overcast day.

I'm writing a book on shamanism, based on my MSc dissertation, and may use that pic on the front cover.

    Nice soon-to-be-topical spew shot PJ….

Was quite chuffed with the 'mood' in this one from a STW ride around the Pentlands – looks quite summer-y despite being in November

The most exciting thing that happened to me in 2009 was getting involved in rescuing an American couple off the Clogwyn y person arete in North Wales.
