Today I did about 35 miles including sprinting up Clent in a big gear. The training's been working because I got up there with a 36t chainring and the 30t sprocket on the cassette without having a heart attack or wishing to die.

Aargau, Switzerland. I rode for 2 hours early this morning without seeing a single human track 😀

Riding in that much powder is a lot of fun with the right tools for the job. It is slow though. Nothing better than achieving "float velocity" when going downhill. Some epic drifting in the corners.

Bah - Christmas market in Barrow yesterday (was utterly rubbish), and today I am not feeling to bright so probably a chill out day. Although I think my mate is popping over to fettle his bike up in a bit so that may keep me occupied for a while.

Although if I feel a bit more chirpy later in the week I may try and sneak a ride around Gisburn in 😉 Got a couple of small jobs on in Lancaster which should be done by late morning/early lunch so it would seem rude not to. Unless more has been found for me to do by then!

hence why I have only been able to manage an hour on the Kona Unit around the local [s]footpaths[/s] bridleways.

and couldn't make the Rivvy STW groupride arranged by Junkyard.

Nice pics, especially jealous of you Schweiz! We had what should have been a fantastic day in the snow. Big uplift to around 1200m and riding back to the valley floor a couple of times. The first descent was brilliant, the snow was just right. On the second we pushed down the first half in hip deep snow and only managed to ride the second half. A fat bike would have owned it! Still, it was great to be out in the snowy mountains and really, really beautiful. Here's one of the bits we did ride...

Attempted Cut Gate from Ladybower on Saturday, gave up before the slabs as it was sheet ice, the climb up Cranberry Clough from Slippery stones was also like a toboggan run and made for an interesting descent!

[img] [/img]

Then off to the O2 Academy in Sheffield to see Orbital. Top night.

Just seen your post,I wish they were the loop bars, may be next year 😉 they are the Humpert Space Bugel Handlebars,£19.99 in practical cycles. Similar hand position to the carnegies, I quite like em anyway 😉
