Can it be done? my lynskey has a 44mm headtube, is there a headset that would allow a tapered fork to be used? there is a good deal on 29er rebas at on one....??

Yes there are headsets to do this as the Latitude frame has the XX44 headtube and runs a tapered steerer.

However I emailed Hope and they are making the first batch of EC44's this week which no doubt will be considerably cheaper than the CK.
