Dropped the lowers off my 6 week old Rev RCT3s to be met with:

on one of the stanchions. Anyone (Loco!) seen this before? The surface is completely smooth, it looks an awful lot like oil has penetrated the coating!

Id put it back and ignore it. What you cant see and cant feel does not exist.

happened on my old 2004 boxxers. sent them off to TF for a service they said exactly what you think it is....

oil has penetrated the coatin

ran them for 3 years with no problems

That's good to know greeble, as long as its not interfering with the adhesion of the coating/anodizing then I guess it'll do no harm.

I have an old cheap boxxer that TFT stroke-lengthened and there's similar markings on each leg where the "reducer" or whatever had been

They told me it was cosmetic and inevitable in that situation and I shouldn't worry about it

Shameless bump as I note Loco is on ATM. SRAM say purely cosmetic, nothing at all to worry about. I'm happy to accept this but 3rd party confirmation would be great ;-).
