[#4339765]

RH rear - happened after cleaning the bike (or rather spraying it with diluted muc-off and rinsing)

Next time on the bike (few days) and the rear shifting felt amost jammed
I wondered if I'd trapped a cable or something at first
Cable & outer sections all run free
Mech, "no" resistance when moved by hand

It's the "pull" aspect that's not right - it'll release absolutely fine but the big lever seems to have become sticky and as though the cable isn't properly adjusted (doesn't shift a gear until the 2nd click) but this happens at any point through the gears rather than at one extreme including immediaely after using the little lever

Is this what they do when they're dying ? ๐Ÿ™

Currently on intensive GT85 therapy and has improved a bit but still feels wrong

Keep attacking with GT85 and attempt to get it moving without excessive force.
Hopefully it will loosen up. Once it does, get it onto some thicker chain lube and repeat the process.

My money is on the cables/outers. They can feel fine but still cause this sort of issue.

cable & outers have been "released" from the frame and all outers slide completely smoothly along the inner. I can't believe it's that.

GT85 - yeh; and I smell gorgeous !!

GT85 = Perfume for REAL men (not classifieds scammers though)

no fraying on the cable or other issue? What you are saying does not add up.

The really weird thing is the fact that it's when pulling cable that it doesn't work right - the spring in the mech is perfectly able to pull released cable back down the whole run but it's stiff when pulling ( ๐Ÿ˜‰ )

Have removed it all (no fraying at all) and going to flush everything/lube the crap out of the sti and see what happens

UPDATE - so nobody loses any sleep tonight

took off, sprayed the sti out with lots of GT85. SPrayed out all cable outers too, and cleaned the wire. Sprayed the mech until it drowned.

Now works with the old light feel. No idea which bit worked.

I'll get greased/oiled up and back into action later

Err, edit: Sorry, I meant the gears; no pics of me to follow ๐Ÿ˜‰
