After having my reverb serviced to stop it bouncing up and down like a pogo stick a few months ago (1 ride, as haven't ridden the bike since then), during today's mtb marathon it was stuck in the down position.
I did manage to get it back up to full height by pushing on the lever and pulling it up by hand.
Any possible thoughts on what it is?
If it's cream crackered, i have been looking at replacement's.
Top of my list is the Magura post, also on the list is the E13 or Crank Brothers. Both cable actuated for easy installation and priced well. I don't want another reverb and the Fox and Thompson are out of my price range.

If you don't need more than 120mm drop, don't discount the Brand X one on CRC.

Long warranty, simple (though not serviceable internals...long warranty again though 😉 ) reliable and cable actuated.

Oh, it's cheap too. Got mine for £100 dearer now though.

Few posts on here about them.

Can't help with info on the Reverb I'm afraid as not owned one. I like simple cable pulled posts.

I think I've been unlucky with my Brand X dropper. One wet weekend in Wales and now I can't activate it. The cable just won't move. Hoping it's a cable related problem, but haven't had the chance to look yet.

I've been impressed with my Highline. Really easy to install and it's taken a beating in the 4 months I've had it. Yet to see how it handles Tweed valley slop in the winter but overall I'm chuffed with it and would recommend.

Bleed the Reverb would be my first suggestion.

Sounds like it's lost air pressure.

Most things on a Reverb can be fixed.

My 2nd hand Fox has been way better than any Reverb (and I've had a few). As all the routing is internal, can't see any value in hydro actuation. Have a KS Lev as well and I've been very impressed with that as well.

Sell the reverb on ebay and buy a Brand X. Once fitted your wouldn't know the difference (apart from it working faultlessly).

I've had Reverb, Giant Contact SL and Brand X. I would go Brand X staring away again, the only issue is the Brand X is internal only.

I got myself a BikeYoke from TFTuned about a month ago. Very pleased with it so far, though early days and it has yet to see any mud. Feeling very positive that it will be fine though.

Avoid the Crank Brother highline if you want to stay stress free!
Had one, and nothing but issues since day 1.

The actuator they've deployed is overly complex and adds unnecessary length to the post. The decals also weren't aligned properly, so it was a b*tch to work out where the correct actuator/post alignment was for fastest rise/drop. (apparently, they've introduced 2 more QA checks to ensure this won't happen again.....)

Also, it's sloooow on the rise. (I have YouTube vids if you're interested)

The lever needs 2 pinch bolts to stop it rotating in the clasp (but only has 1).

And after 9 months, it lost 20mm of its height!! Cartridge replaced under warranty, but I had to pay for postage. 3 Year warranty - and it needs it!

And it wasn't cheap. Overall not a happy experience. Now sold at a massive loss, and replaced with a Brand-X, which is cheaper, faster, easier to fit and so far has been 100% trouble-free! Recommended!

Ive got a fox transfer which is a million times better than the reverbs I've had before. I bought the wolftooth lever which has to be the best cable actuated lever on the market in my opinion.

My mate bought the brand x post which also seems top class for the price.(although the lever is a bit flimsy/naff)

If i was starting out from scratch again I'd defo buy the brand x post and upgrade the lever to a wolftooth one (integrating it with my brake lever)

+1 for the BikeYoke Revive. Had mine for about 6 months, and it's been flawless.

Magura Vyron. Is it any good? I like the fact I can easily move it from one bike to another as there's no cables.
Winstanleys are doing them for £255

good to hear. just ordered one from Tf-tuned to replace my deceased reverb.

bonus is that I can fit a 160 drop post in place of the 125 drop reverb I'm currently running.

I'm here to contradict the CB Highline review above!

Had mine about 8 months now and it has been faultless. I haven't been bothered about the return speed and I came off a reverb.

I got mine for about £180 from one offer German mail order stores so I c0nsidered it to be good value

The Easton one is pretty decent for the money. It's basically the fall line one licensed to Easton/ raceface.

I just got another Reverb. No it's not as reliable as it should be, but if you can fit a long drop post in your frame imo it's a big enough deal to be worth tolerating some warranty bullshit. Also, since I did 2 warranty returns on my last reverb with soft failures then got a full refund, I'm not too stressed about having basically had a free years' seatpost.

There are other long drops but way more expensive.
