Frame, forks and cranks from classifieds, rest either the bay, new or bastardised from old build.

Wheels built by Jim Davage at Bike City in Wells.

    Love riding it.

I'll post mine (Swift) once it's built 😉

In the mean time, anyone seen any good deals on 29er inner tubes – best I can find is £5 each (inc postage) – I'm after four of them.

    …..loving it
….so fast when you get used to the handling..its not point and shoot like my 26er you have to think ahead more.

but its a different type of bike ..faster up hill by a long way though.

OK, so who's using 26" tubes in their 29er – one of my mates just told me that's what he's been doing for the last couple of years without trouble.

26" tubes are fine. If you REALLY need 29er tubes I may have a couple I can part with now one of my bikes is tubeless. Bike Jumble on Saturday?

you need to fit 29er kit to the forks to stop the tyre fouling the arch

Ta TooTall but think I'll just use 26" as it saves having yet another different inner tube type (already got fed up of carring road, cx and 26" mtb tubes and just use road ones in the CX bike).

I do like 29er's with sprung forks, I like 29er's with any fork, but a massive set of sprung forks sets them off.

26" tubes in big volume 29er tyres in emergency only, they roll all over the place in my (one and only, never again! ) experience

they roll all over the place

    Surely that's a good thing?

RD – I can't really see how that would be – once inflated, other than the rubber being stretched more/being thinner, they're applying exactly the same pressure to the tyre as a 'proper' sized tube.

Cheapish build to see what all the fuss is about and provide a bit of eye candy for the shop.

Any idea roughly how much the new Anthem X 29er is going to cost? and when it is due in the shops?
