[Closed] Show me your SS 29er's
Black stem and silver seatpost?
The style police will be soon along to add their comments.
I think it looks mint!
I love everything about your bike OP but it does look like it needs to get out more.
I bet its a bugger to use with no pedals...
Love the rear hub. All black so it gets my vote. Very nice.
Twas it's first outing, purely for the pics 🙂
Trust me, it's filthy now 🙂
Post yours.
and why not - it's a classy build, very nice.cos I want to show it off

My hybrid.
Current set up as work bike for lunchtime rides and to get into town with large gear.

Fr0sty - what bars have yougot on there? How wide?
@5thumbs - The bars are Mt Zoom 25.4, the wide option (640mm) which are bar-end friendly, apparently. They are silly light at 109g, and have a 9 degree sweep I think.
They are even nicer in the flesh; great carbon layup and the finish is gorgeous in the sun.
Thanks for all the compliments folks.
Let's see more rigids/ss 29ers!
Does anyone else think that 29er's are uberbent if the frame size is less than 18".
Statement than a question!
Mine's a 16 and I htink it looks and rides great. You don't have to agree.
Does anyone else think that 29er's are uberbent if the frame size is less than 18".
Depends on the frame, some wear it better than others and i happen to think the on ones pull it off quite well. My canfield however looks daft in small sizes....albeit no worse than other extreme such as a 20" Orange 5 which looks ludicrous.
Can't wait to build up my new Swift tomorrow.
My favourite bike 🙂

Inspiring stuff, half the bits bought for my SS Inbred, can't wait to get it finished.
Wheels next on the list, recommendations? Cheaper the better... 😉
Just stop it! All of you, now!
I don't have any more room for bikes and my bank balance is very unhealthy so please stop posting up these ridiculous frankenbikes that I definitely, definitely don't want.
Agreed. Stop it now all of you because I definitely don't want to buy this
Especially not at this price

Phew, thankfully that Surly isn't in my size. However, that Cannondale SL3 is... damn, damn, damn... must resist...
2orangey4crows- ordered one of those Cannondales yeasterday, too much of a bargain to pass up. Will post a picture when it's delivered.
What I really need you to do is tell me how rubbish it is and how much you regret spending the money!
OCB - I'm lusting after that gryphon!
shortcut - that Singular looks lovely!
That Curtis is bloody lovely 😀
What finish is it, just a laquer coating?
More information on the Curtis. Looks perfect...
How's the belt drive working out Graham?
It's going well.
I found it's limits at SITS, the mixture of mud and grass getting wedged between the belt and pulley eventually broke the belt, although Gates have promised me a free replacement.
In normal mud and sand, it's brilliant.
Curtis is 853 front triangle and headtube with 725 stays, Phil Wood ebb, built as a first by Brian Curtis, polished and laquered finish.
Would you like some close ups?
That curtis looks lovely. It could even tempt me away from my singular. 😐
Lovely 😀
Moustache thoroughly twitched...
Cracking looking frame.
What are the bars?
Yep, custom Seven cycles with 17 deg sweep, arrived after 5 days
WOW! 🙂
that Curtis is truly lovely.
Just seems right somehow.
Out of curiosity, what's it weigh?
(runs off to check finances)
21.7lb, 23.75" t/t 17" Seat tube, 70.4 Head angle.
If your ever down Somerset way give me a shout
Wow, that curtis is stunning!
Qwerty, how do you find the vitus? Seems to be the perfect no nonsense commuter/pub/messing about bike on a budget.
Hmmm I was eyeing those bars earlier. Candodavid would be interested in seeing them in the flesh some time.
Where are you based/
This thread really makes me want another Singular.
🙁
amva - ticks all those boxes
That Curtis is lovely, but I'm still leaning towards the Singulars. They just look 'right'.
I like the idea of being able to run gears too. I think I love my P7 too much to change to a 29er though... but maybe if Orange did a P7 29er...
That Curtis - yum. The welds are something else!
What's the grey/silver Singular? That looks lovely too..
Rich
Rich - my guess is that it's the ti Pegasus. A Swift but in ti!
Curtis has a mech hanger, please note its brazed, not welded...pah
I'm a firm believer in a man should never stroke another man's rhubarb but that Curtis is beautiful.
Kona Raijin. First foray into the land of 29ers, not had the chance to get out on it proper yet but should be off to Glentress on Saturday 😀

That Kona is massive, i'd need a box to stand on to get on it.
Here's my Retrotec on an interesting and lengthy winter commute.

Present ... 😉
Slight hijack, but I'd love to know how many of you are using these as your only (mountain) bike - or have you also got a fully geared 26" full suss in the shed? There are some very temptingly beautiful bikes in this thread, but sadly I fear it would have to be an 'instead of' rather than 'also' for me to justify one...
Mine is my only mountain bike.
I have a 26" SS with font boing, the XC9, and a Nicolai Helius CC, and a road bike.
The most ridden is the XC9, mendip, quantock, anywhere really.
Helius is mainly for big days out, where suspension makes it just a bit more daft.
All my bikes are singlespeed and big wheeled. from my light and racy to big days out in the mountains, chunky and boingy fronted. I may add a gearie back into the collection (1x10) for a something like a transition bandit 29er or niner WFO for alpine hols, but that's it.
