I've been struggling for work for the past 9 months (work for myself) but now things are looking up 😀 so I'm planning a congratulatory/Jubilee/Olympics purchase for later in the year..
I've had an Airborne Ti Hag and a deKerf singlespeed in the past (along with a few less notable others) and fancy something like an IF or maybe a UK built job (some of the Rourke's I've seen have been nice....and I really like the look of a Niner Air9 Carbon for something completely different) with some nice non-Shimano kit on there (King/Hope/Middleburn more to my liking)
..give me some inspiration!
Depends on your definition of "bling" I suppose. Mine's a custom Ti job arranged via Singular & built by a chap in Germany
Frame build in progress...

a blinglespeed?
Okay I'll kick this off with my Roberts' Dogsbolx. Built for me in 2001, it was the first SS specific DB to be built. At the time sliding drop-out didn't exist and I didn't really fancey and EBB so I went with V-brakes. Anyway the choice of discs wasn't as great as it is now.

Crap picture but you get the idea.
himod carbon frame and forks 1500 grams for the pair.
saddle now changed to black , grips added ,steerer cut and brakes repositioned - and grass recovered 🙂

Isn 't a bling singlespeed a sort of inherent contradiction?
I thought there's be loads of people posting stuff up on this....maybe an indication of the decline of a niche??
Anyway, it's a niche I'm still into!

As with teeto the frame isnt too bling but components are quite nice
[img]
A couple of years ago i was very close to getting a titus Fireline exogrid custom to replace the frame but couldnt justify it. Glad I didnt just from a waste of money point of view tbh
kind of, but not really.Isn 't a bling singlespeed a sort of inherent contradiction?
maybe.
I think.
dunno
or maybe a UK built job
Shand Cycles in Scootland had some nice clean frames at the UK handmade show, or 18Bikes could build you one. I can hear some 953 tubing with your name on it calling...
Ok, I don't think bling & singlespeed go together...
So here's my not at all blingy (is that a word?) ss in its all year round practical guise!! 😀

Surprised there aren't more replied to this. I'll not post mine as it's an Inbred with cheap parts.
[s]kind of, but not really.maybe.
I think.
dunno [/s]
Its an excuse for another bike I am in
FTFY
Mine is made of parts form the parts bin- even his ^^^^ frame
I can see the appeal but I will neve own anything other than an Induistrial SS
It does have a middleburn chainring [ on a deore square taper ] does that count?
i seem to have lost the ability to use flickr .bugger.
this isn't mine, sadly, but it's bloody gorge and for sale from black cats... prob not cheap but lovely!

As soon as my frame and forks arrive (been on order for 5 months now.....) I hope it will fit in this category! Last update was two weeks away which has come and passed like the many previous ones. I am being patient honest.

This is 50% of what you're looking for (it sure as hell isn't bling) but it's paid for.

My Gryphon ended up having no Shimano parts, although completely by accident. Perhaps a bit more Yeoman than you had in mind tho' ...

Handbuilt in the UK - does that count? Even if I did buy it cheap from the CRC monster...
Now sold to a lucky person off here, not bling but ticked the niche box. I'd buy it back in ashot should the chance arise!!

Balls, don't know how to send Flickr images with only an iPad
pedalhead, why do you have a layback seatpost on a custom frame? Surely the frame could have been made to get your arse in the right place or would it have reduced tyre clearance too much?
Would love to do one of these as a first foray into the 29er market, but can't seem to work out whether to get a dedicated ss frame like the inbred is currently available in, or get a verticle dropout frame and use a tensioner.
Any preference? Also what width axles/hub would you need?
Or one that does both. Ive got a salsa el mariachi , it has gear hanger that slides so you can have both
