just wondering if anyone is running a XT 10sp GS cage with a 36-11t cassette shimano state the maximum size to be used is a 35t.

It works fine for me for 1x10.
thats what im looking to run, 1x10 so sounds good to me!
I may be wrong but I think the 35t limit is the capacity (biggest chainring less smallest sprocket in the cassette) not a limit on the largest cassette sprocket. I hope I'm right because I've just fitted a GS mech to my bike tonight with a 11-36t cassette 🙂
yeah it's the capacity - not the cassette size.

Table in the middle states the capacity for the SGS and GS derailleurs and gives example combinations.
