[Closed] shimano xt GS mech with 36-11t cassette

just wondering if anyone is running a XT 10sp GS cage with a 36-11t cassette shimano state the maximum size to be used is a 35t.

It works fine for me for 1x10.

thats what im looking to run, 1x10 so sounds good to me!

I may be wrong but I think the 35t limit is the capacity (biggest chainring less smallest sprocket in the cassette) not a limit on the largest cassette sprocket. I hope I'm right because I've just fitted a GS mech to my bike tonight with a 11-36t cassette ๐Ÿ™‚

yeah it's the capacity - not the cassette size.

See the instructions here:

Table in the middle states the capacity for the SGS and GS derailleurs and gives example combinations.

Yep no problems here

XT M780 GS with 11-36t cassette

36 chainring on the front, fine & dandy !

thanks for your help, wasnt to sure, singletrack comes up trumps again!

Ordered 32t hope chainring, xt 36-11 10spd cassette xt mech xt shifter! looking forward to running 1x10!
