    Hi chaps,

I need a new pair of all day and race day shoes, does anyone have a pair of xc50 or xc60 they can tell me about? Interested in comfort and capability to rock… i.e. do they slip on rock, or are the lugs soft enough to offer grip?

    Cheers

In typical STW style, I’m tecommomending something not in your question 🙂
Have you considered specialized experts? Very grippy on rocks and when on foot, with almost the entire sole covered in rubber for grip. The sole also has a carbon plate in for stiffness.. they are extremely comfortable! I use them for xc racing, all day riding, road riding on the winter bike, cx, touring etc…. They’re brilliant!

I have the black/red xc50s which may be last year’s model. I can only say that they seem fine. I’ve certainly not noticed them being slippier on rock or anything else than any of the many other shoes I have or have had. comfort-wise, they fit me well.

I’d have no problem recommending them.

I have a pair of the xc 50… I think, the white and black ones and think they’re great. Gone up a size as usual. Really comfortable, reasonably stiff and non slip so far…
