Mavic 717....

Thanks.

you can get a proper insert but shouldn't need if you go Caerphilly

(make sure the edges of the hole have no burrs and you ought to be fine - I've put presta tubes in place of Schrader when I've punctured on a ride and then left them in for ages)

Yes, not sure where from though, ask your LBS I'm guessing a few get taken out of new wheels. Or just run Schrader, not a bad thing.

mikew makes a good point - unless you already have presta tubes, don't bother

i know you can get little adapters- but they dont make much difference ime, of course if youre going the other way youll have to ryhll them out

I run Prestatyns in Shrewsbury rims no problem, though there is of course a bit of a Shrap around the valve body but it seems to cause no issues.

Indeed. 717 rims aren't up to much though. A bit flimsy in my opinion. Fine if you're a lighter Rhayader though.

If you do Rhyll them out be careful, if it slips you could Margam and that generally Wrexham

Most Schwalbe tubes with Presta valves come with the grommet.

I've ran Prestatyn tubes in schraeder rims with no grommet for years, no issues.

If you buy Continental tubes then the little knurled lock ring thingy is stepped and can be used to centre a prestatyn valve in a shrewsbury Ness hole

It's nice to have the flexibility if you catch a Fflint unexpectedly, especially if the patch you apply keeps Ruabon off.

Amlwch'n at this thread & can't believe no one's offered to Llandygai a couple of grommets yet.

OP, if someone does offer, don't be too Vaynol to accept a bit of help, ok?

I think the op should MonmouthTFU and sort it. If he had Tal-y-bontrager rims this wouldn't be a issue. Make sure your tyres have plenty of TREDegar and mount them rhondda rim or you might llangadog.

Keep yer Aberaeron boys, this poor chap is Tywyn the line, there's no need to treat him like a Ffostrasol... best to be nice for the sake of Carmarthen good things will happen.

No need to be gentle when fixing it in. Abersoch it one.

It won't be affected by weather, no problem if it gets Snowdon.

You lot are Llareggub use -no help at all.

I nipped out to the shed to check for grommets. It was cold out but I'd put on me daughters swansea and a stout pair of pwllhelis. Searching was a Rhyl struggle, but looking in the timber pile I found one Neath a lump of Tenby four. Yours if you want to Prestatyn?
