Stacked it pretty badly in the Alps last year whilst my reverb was fully compressed & ripped the hose off the remote. Reinstalled the hose & bled it back at the campsite & got it sort of working again (albeit a lot slower) to see out the rest of the holiday.

Bled it again a couple of times once back home but never managed to get it working as good as before. There was definitely the sound of air in the fluid inside as it was compressed (squishing sound).

Last time I used it was at an uplift day at FoD in August when I came off again (no damage to the post this time) & broke my ribs & haven’t used the bike since.

Sunshine today prompted me to give the bike a service & the reverb was stuck in the compressed position. Bled it & got it to extend; bled it again & now it won’t compress. What next? Full service seems to involve a host of ‘specialist’ tools I don’t have.

In B4 sarky comments about crashing too much 😀

Prob needs a thorough bleed as it sounds like the damage was only to the remote? Prob still some air in there somewhere… Are you following the sram videos for the bleed?

Followed the video to the letter. Damage was only to the remote & assumed the remote fluid would be separate to the post fluids. Will have another go.

Daft question, is the air in the chamber at the proper pressure??

Assuming it should be 250 psi when extended, yes.

Remote fluid is separate from the main fluid.

A good bleed should sort it unless the actual lever was damaged? Does the speed adjust work and rotate? It basically adjusts the stroke of the valve in the seatpost.

im after a RH one but may swap internals if its the black collar type (as they are slightly different between black / silver speed adjuster)

It is black collar as in the pics mate have you been running your upside down as i have found this greatly helps with avoiding crash damage i run my rh upside down on the left

Apologies for delay in replying; I’ve just built a pub bike for my wife.

Lever is fine, speed adjust rotates, can’t tell if it works as the post won’t compress! I’ll go & give it another bleed now…

Another way to rule out the bleed or lever is to try and use a syringe from the bleed kit to actuate it.

Attach the bleed syringe with fluid in it to the seat post and then use the syringe as the lever?

I had the same issue turned out my bleed kit was leaking and putting air into the system everytime. Just used abit of superglue to seal it and it bleed great after.

6 times I’ve bled it. 6! But finally got it working. After the 4th attempt I discovered the fluid was cavitated. Not sure how much impact that has, but removed the bubbles, removed existing fluid from the system & started over. Two bleeds with air-free fluid & it’s working again.

My bleed kit does leak where the hose meets the red bit though; I’ll try the superglue trick for future.
