No, I’m not now cross dressing – lycra’s as “specialist” as I get….

OK, so Mrs North has expressed the desire for a new work bag. I’d like to do some typical man steering on her choices:

Overall, has to be slim and light, but…

    Big enough for
    -ipad
    – pad of paper/notebook
    – blackberry
    – purse (crucial, as this is quite bulky

So, what do you or your SO’s use?

(Budget – dunno. Up to £150, I guess)

What does a woman want with a briefcase? Somewhere to carry a spare duster?

Sorry Ourman, I’d love to help, but currently I’m using one of those bags for life from Tesco. Don’t think that’s what you had in mind is it?

Look at Orla Kiely – I have a medium sized handbag in which I can fit an ipad and stuff. It would depend on how big her notebook/pad of paper is 😉

My wife’s currently using one of these for work: http://www.on-one.co.uk/i/q/BAFA30306/fanatic-small-shoulder-bag

Hey, thanks all. I’ll point her towards some of those. But probably not bag for life (she’s forever using a jute knit-you-own-yoghurt bag for loose papers) or On One.

Her current bag is a very nice Mandarina Duck messenger bag, but she has expressed an interest for something more, er, ladylike. And, given she’s tiny, I want to prevent her from carrying too much unnecessary stuff..!

I should steer you toward my design collection.
However I think our bags are more for ‘looking pretty’ than for work purpose. Although the ‘sling bag’ does hold a lot of ‘stuff’. http://emmyjane-design.blogspot.com/

Cheers, Jane. I’ll point G that way.

PS I need more curtains. Similarly short timescales and complete indecision as per..! I’ll mail you…

I bought Mrs Rotter the red one for Mother’s day; and it has been borrowed since by her mate, who’s a fashion director in that there London…

Mine, is a timbuk2 bag, but I’m guessing from what you say that it’s not going to be ladylike enough this time, although they do have the customisable colours etc, so can make it much more what you want it to be.

Hermes Kelly, 35cm, in clemence leather, classic colour like gold or ebene with silver hardware
