I'm sure its not due to ample girth as I'm not a fatty, so does anyone else have issues with the poppers on Endura shorts?
To have the waist tight enough that they dont fall down when stood up, the popper randomly pops open at regular intervals.
I was looking at some in LBS the other day and I noticed that they now have a button on instead of a popper.
Also notice that the wife's animal shorts use a double popper / velcro combo and that seems to work.
So, anyone else had this issue? I've got 2 pairs of shorts are still nowhere near worn out, but the poppers seem to get worse, there's less purchase on it every time I wear them!
Wonder if I can get an alteration shop to put a button on there instead....

Poppers on Endura shorts

Yes I've had the same problem on a couple of pairs. The poppers just aren't poppery enough.

My old pair are fine, but the new ones I bought do this all the time too, wonder if it down to poppers?
Posted 3 months ago # -
Mine do this too. Mind you, I'm a right porker
Posted 3 months ago # -
Yep - same here. Cut a button hole and sewed on a button. Sorted.

Its down to poppah powah innit.
Posted 3 months ago # -
Mine do. It drives me nuts so I don't wear them.
Why not fit a button eh?
Posted 3 months ago # -
Same here. Poppers are useless on them.

I have the exact same problem. Might try and squeeze the outer poppy bit with some pliers or something, see if that helps with the poppyness.

I have the exact same problem. Might try and squeeze the outer poppy bit with some pliers or something, see if that helps with the poppyness.I've done that with a couple of pairs of my Endura shorts and it's fixed them a treat

Had a pair of Endura Singletrack shorts with the opposite problem, once closed the popper wouldn't reopen, thus tearing the fabric. Replacement pair they sent were fine.

Yup same here, the belt that came with mine is also rubbish.
Great shorts but potentially crown-jewel exposing.

IME it ain't just Endura. I have some Altura longs that have a double popper and they aren't brill either. A lot of my Enduras have been converted to buttons and TBH I wish the makers would go to this closing method too.

I know you shouldn't have to modify new kit, but I always add one of these http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B000QNWW84
to Endura waistbands, easy to fit (just need a hammer!) and a far better popper than anything I've seen fitted on new shorts (of most brands, not just Endura)Posted 3 months ago # -
I've resorted to using braces with my (endura, altura & royal) shorts, as none of them want to stay up!
Unfortunately the g/f has taken to snapping (stretching them and letting go) them at every opportunity.Posted 3 months ago # -
+1 endura and altura poppers. annoying
Posted 3 months ago # -
Ditto.
Relieved it seems a common problem, there was me thinking i was plumping out...Posted 3 months ago # -
and here.
Posted 3 months ago # -
yup. poor popper product performing pants.
Posted 3 months ago # -
the endura poppers coming undone are the first sign i notice if i've been eating too many pies. so yeah constantly have problems with them
Posted 3 months ago # -
I've not noticed an issue with mine - but then I'm not a fatty
Posted 3 months ago # -
Are the poppers that important? I do sometimes do them up when I'm wearing an Endura undershort - but more often than not I wear something without poppers underneath.
Not the clickfast liner poppers, the one on the waistband at the front.

Me too - old ones were fine, new one are pants, as is the new belt.
Why do they change stuff ? If it works leave it.
We should forward this thread to them as feedback.

Me Too. And I thought it was just me getting fatter (although that may also be true).
Posted 3 months ago # -
Yeah they're crap. I had to squeeze the outer bit with pliers to get it to grip properly. Dakine poppers are better, but proper buttons are worth getting.

You can buy cheap popper kits from those shops that sell sewing things - sorry, can't remember the real name for them - and simply fit an additional popper next to the original, which fixes it.
I bought one down the local market for a few quid about three years ago and have now modified three pairs of shorts with it and potentially could do another 20 pairs...
You basically just use a hammer to install a new popper. Dead easy even without advanced seamstress skills. And then you can eat as many pies as you like without yer gut springing out.

ive had the popper problem on enduras.tried pliers to make good but to no avail.im not fat at 10 stone so was dissapointed this happened after so many rave reviews.

I've lost a stone, poppers now work as intended :$

Previous Endura shorts were fine. But my new Zyme shorts bought in the CRC sale popped open.
So I bought a Craghopper webbing belt for a fiver from ebay. Problem solved.

Yeah. My old single track shorts had the little clip belt which made it all work.
Got to be careful with the new ones. Getting the adjustment right is important.Posted 3 months ago # -
Hi all, got the same problem with mine, just bought some Hook & Bar fasteners.
There are 3 in the pack, happy to post 2 out, quid to cover P&P?
