I agree with it being uninforcable in the majority of situations however any media coverage suggesting you should pass with at least 3 feet of distance can only be a good thing surely?

I'd like to see a media campaign explaining ASLs. From observation, I reckon that only a small fraction of drivers know what they're for. Maybe not surprising as most will have last read the HWC long before they were introduced.
