I have not been in to American hiphop for a while now but I quite like that, it is a bit different to the run of the mill stuff.

This is a bit off the beaten track as well and pretty dark in places, available as a free download :

https://capaciti.bandcamp.com/album/the-blind-cinema-sessions

It took me a while to get into it but I really like it now.

I'm not going to watch it as it will not suparse what I have in my head. Hardcore gangsta rap about clipping dogs coats. Imagine all the not misogynistic rhymes about bitches that could be in there.

Just watched it. Great video and clever wordplay. Disappointed at the lack of clipping though. Not a dog or sheep in sight ๐Ÿ™‚

If you've got a spare 56 seconds listen to this.

I heard it on 6 music a few weeks ago and tracked it down so I'm surprised to see a 'Clipping' thread on STW. Very bizarre stuff.

I don't have a history of hip hop but I'm loving Run the Jewels and Action Bronson.

EDIT:
Might as well drop this here before I go to bed...

Not to be contrary, as i do think clipping is good. But...........i think that track is a little derivative. That whole one line then punchline thing is being done to death, however i think that may be a deliberate shot at those rappers. It is also done way better than when others have done it.

See, when I first heard CLPPNG, I, personally had heard no hip hop before with production like it. The fact that Davved Diggs voice was good was a bonus.
As I say, I hadn't heard any, maybe there was similar stuff out there, if you know of any I'd love to check it out! But this kind of thing was new and totally freaky to my old ears...

Pretty cool. Seem to be pretty much exclusively listening to Aesop Rock at the mo, along with HMM

I do Dez. I love Aesop and Homeboy in their own right but for some reason the LICE project doesn't quite work for me. Not sure if its a clash of lyrical styles, or their voices, can't put my finger on it. Take HMM, Rob Sonic and Aesop together are dynamite.

EDIT Not that I'm complaining, its free, I just don't listen to it much.

aphex_2k,I'm currently listening to J.Period The [Abstract] vol 1. J-period mix of Q-Tip's best stuff with some original vocals etc. The De La version of Excursions is amazing. Like seriously.

You may already have it. Highly recommended to all the heads

Sound quality is a little off

I can't stop listening to those two Lice EP's. I think they're class. As are the HMM albums and all of Aesops work in general.

This is one of my favourite Aesop tracks

I like Clipping which if I remember correctly was suggested by DezB on a similar hip hop thread I started a couple of years ago....there's some good suggestions on there.

A few tracks I really like that I have only discovered recently:
