The springy bit in nose section has gone so slack they just fall of my face
The lenses are scratched because they did precisely that
and they're several years old now
Will Oakley likely fix/replace?
I think due to how they're made they can't be fixed tbh

If they're out of warranty they'll want you to renew it for around £15
When my old glasses finally got scratched to hell (and they dont make them anymore) they gave me a 40% discount on replacements. Which was nice.
The guy at the Covent Garden Oakley shop was nice enough to let me try his range on in the knowledge that I was going to "buy" the new ones from Oakley UK over the phone. I had to send the old ones back though.

I should have said, the shop I bought them from said 1 year Warranty and that's it. I was pretty sure they generally did better than that though.

Oakley will 'refurb' them, it is possible to fix, i have also known folk have the lenses replaced during this process (however this was in the states)
I must get round to doing mine but will note that i don't want the lenses changing (even though they are scratched i prefer the 1st generation fire lenses that they used) nor the ear stems (they have been known to change these too but i like my low serial number)

whats the chances of them doing anything with a 20 year old pair of frogskins?
When I contacted them last year about my sub zeros that got damaged (right ear piece broke off and was lost in a car crash).
They said that they were too old and would do me a good deal on some new ones, but TBH, I was skint at the time and I didn't take them up on it (plus, I didn't really like any of the new models)
So, if anyone has the right arm for some Sub zeros, get in touch!
Just like folks said, Oakley are usually stellar at this sort of thing. If the glasses are still available and out of warranty they will usually repair for about £15 as was said. If the glasses are no longer available in the range they'll usually suggest the closest replacement for a fair price. I've had a few glasses get mangled in one way or another and this very fair approach to customers was a big reason for me to buy Oakleys when I felt the need for new glasses.
Just spotted on my wifes Ebay account (we sort of share it) that the nice lady has bought me a pair of matt black polarized splinters for my birthday!!! Loveley wumman.
Are Oakley as good with "normal" prescription glasses?
The frame snapped on the last pair I bought from Boots and as they were just over a year old, Boots weren't interested in anything other than selling me new a frame at full whack.
Yes, i have a pair of Rx T Wires. Sent them back once to get them all tightened back up (i couldn't get the hinge tight enough with them poxy small screw drivers) again out of warranty, sent no p.o.p and they sorted foc (ok admittedly loose ear stems aren't a bit issue!)
Yeah they're great even on normal specs, I got a set of ear socks & nosepiece for nowt from them.
Dawson - I have a left and right arm for that exact same pair of sub zeros. Mine broke in the middle of the lens. Oakley said the same thing to me, but it was cheaper to use em with an M frame lens than buy a new pair!
Anyway - I don't use em any more, if you want them both mail me with your address...

I phoned Oakley apparently they do a 'Re-Pin' service for £24.
I said the lenses were also scratched due to them falling off too
She wouldn't commit on the lenses but said send them back with a cover note and they'll have a look and get back to me.
sounds fair, fingers crossed they'll not cost too much to fix.
The lenses alone retail at about £60-70 I think
Whenever I've sent any back, I've gone to an optician in Leeds that sells Oakley and they have given me preprinted, prepaid Oakley returns boxes.
Thanks folks. Are Oakley prescription lenses worth the premium over other decent brands of lens?
I wasn't offered Oakley's own lenses by my opticians, I went for Nikons i think. I don't think Oakley would really be much more of a benefit the other premium brand's products. IMO they're all much of a muchness when you're comparing the top of each range.
Just be aware that if you go for the thinnest lenses, when you look through them off centre axis, the picture can get a bit funny due being refracted more near the edge of the lens (well it is on mine, but then i'm a bit of a mole!). It takes a while to get used to it.
