90% finished…gave it a spin, seems not as flexy as I thought, but the stock shock is either gone or truly awful, no top-out or rebound.

    Flame/love away…

I look forward to your ‘new bike/component’ threads Al, they’re always interesting, and I quite like that too!
Does the tyre touch the seat tube a full travel? or is just really close taking the into account the arc of the swingarm.
Is this the first FS Fat bike around? 😀

    😥

What did you do with the BB/crank? Looks like you’ve got a fair bit of clearance there.
    Is it built offset?

    Edit.
Just looked at the rear rim and it is offset.

I love it. Dare I say I want one?

    Ta Loco…clearance is OK – it’s only 4″ travel…..for now 😀

stu – only kidding, the crank is an 83mm DH one bodged in there. Sadly I don’t think I will get a 2nd chainring in there on this frame 🙁 but will see later today.

iDave there are a few around, only 1 other in the UK AFAIK, a Maverick.

    wtf! (w stands for wow).

I tried a fat bike at SSUK and loved it, not sure how a FS fattie would feel but that looks excellent.

Loving your projects al, keep em coming!

Aye, the rules changed – regs on how it had to be designated, according to the Portobello Reporter.

New-build issues now sorted and working as best it can without getting re-welded (to accommodate granny gear, which it really needs, and may get in time). Needs a proper shock, ebay, here I come.

Have you swapped the fork crown or is it just a tight fit?

From the side view it looks relativley normal. Apart from the fact that it’s a Marin and doesn’t have a map board.

Can we call it the ‘Mar-o-Fat’. Like the peas but less green and probably better for you than the canned mess that they are?

What spec. Shock do you need Al? Have quite alot of random parts around so could build you a cheap custom unit to suit if you like, very cheap that is 😀

Mark….I like that, it needs a name.

Loco 165 x 38, i was just gonna get a float on ebay, £50 seems to do it, if you can match that I’ll put a Loco sticker on the top tube never mention your name in association with it 😀

I think it should be called the BBW. Niche, bouncy, and a type of fun only a few brave men choose to sample.

It makes me smile, the fact that it’s yellow just ices the chubby cake.
