Last sunday, my eldest lad had never succesfully ridden his pedal bike.
this weekend he’s barely been off it, to the point of wanting to leave a birthday party early to go and ride it.

Combination of balance bike and tag-along came together just like that. He’s getting better every time he rides, just rode 1 mile to school on it, having refused the offer of a tow with the trailgator.

    Proud dad 😀

    Edit – the TVR isn’t mine 🙁

I still remember the feeling of freedom that I got when I first rode a bike, same as your lad I couldn;t get enough of riding it.

He certainly looks pleased about it 🙂

    Cool.

If it was, you wouldn’t have had the cash to buy the little ‘un a bike 🙂

Nice one. Here’s my little treasure (2.5yo) on her balance bike last week

(note tyre tracks in the grass where she freewheeled it down the hill).

Gotta love that smile of ‘I’M DOING IT DAD, LOOK!!!!’

My little girl did the 1.5 mile route back from the child minders on her balance bike the other day, thats a long walk/jog for me!

    Good effort!!

Sadly our nursery is either along the derestricted A-road or up/down a quiet but stupidly steep hill, so we won’t be attempting that one.

I’m not sure who’s more pleased, me or him 🙂

He’s adamant I’ve got to take him round the blue runs at Keilder and Whinlatter now. I had planned on taking him on the tagalong, but I guess I’ll be towing him on the trailgator up the hills and he’ll be riding back down.

I’m really impressed with the way he’s learnt to modulate the brakes, and has got great slow-sped balance. Need to work on uphill starts, but as he’s figuring out how to ride standing up, it won’t take long for him to figure out how to stomp on the pedals. Start ’em young…

Spent 3 hrs at the skatepark yesterday with my 3yo (scootbike) & 4yo. Eldest is now riding off the side of quarterpipes standing up (learning him to jump/drop) they can both carve quarterpipe turns and ride the halfpipe.

Get some gloves on em- saves alot of tears !

Ours both coming along nicely, the youngest thinks he’s Evel Knievel already and hes only been on it 5 weeks, bezzing off kerbs and all sorts!! He can do about 2 miles on his Rothan now, but you have to tell him there’s a lolly at the end!

It’s great watching them grow and learn bike skills but when she discovers boys and life I will miss her…
