  • Ideas for a 30th present. Need to think of something good!

Anyone care to suggest a present for someone fitting the following profile….

    – bloke
    – 30 years old (obviously!)
    – into road cycling, doing iron mans and triatholons at a fairly high level
    – runs a triatholon club
    – well paid so there isn’t anything he ‘needs’ as such

Budget is 100 quid…. thinking of something like a whisky drinking set, but less rubbish. Want something that’ll be resonably long lived – it’s from me and a couple of other mates…

Get a whisky that’s the same age he is?

One of these? Assuming he likes coffee? And a nice coffee subscription will put that near your budget!

I will research to see if he has a coffee fetish…

That’s actually not that bad an idea…. he already has one tat!

    … and now he’ll have tat-two!

For my 40th I got a bottle of 40 year old port. That was about £100, so 30 year old should be similar.

1970 was an excellent vintage too, apparently!

Bump – any suggestions on where to get 30 year old whisky from?

Any other suggestions on ideas for presents from the day time crowd?

A driving day – just got one for the brother-in-law’s 30th – 9 laps of Silverstone in a supercharged Lotus for £145 (in the January sale, normally £195).

Saw some other deals around the £100 mark for less laps/different cars such as Mini Coopers etc

A less pricey whiskey (assuming he likes whiskey, that is) and a couple of decent glasses to drink it out of?

How about that ridiculously expensive corkscrew – it is a Campagnolo one??
    Just over £100 – here:

Why don’t you pay me to take you both multi-pitch rock climbing in wales for the day?

    What?
