    Yes – I bought a second hand Fisher Ferrous. The BB slipped, the chain stays were too wide and it was a bit springy.

    That’s just the bike. I love my 29ers – just not that one.

    for me to change to the big wheels I would have to immediately see a obvious difference in how fast I climbed to sacrifice how much fun I have on the downhill sections.
    I’m talking suddenly out at the front of my cycling buddies difference.

    I am 5ft so 26ers are liker 29ers to me 🙂

    Chances are you’ll find you have more fun downhill on a decent 29er, and uphill, and across the hill 🙂

    Got a Gary Fisher X Caliber 29er, hated it, sold it after after 4 weeks.
    Had a Inbred 29er which I loved, but sold it for the above.
    Now own a Swift, Grand Canyon Al and a Salsa Horsethief all 29er, love them all.
    29ers can be as different as any 26er can.
