Can't see it on their website, Linky?

glad it's not just me
thought i was being thick!

I spotted one yesterday. Look good for the cash. Not on their website though.
At that price even I would be tempted to try SS
Posted 2 years ago # -
or have we missed a joke?
either way a cheap SS would be quite useful to me...

No it is not on website, but in store. They had a rack of about 15. Will take pic next week and post up. But it is a basic £80 bike. I did the classic finger nail flick down the tubes and they sounded rather solid! Had an oval downtube, round top and seat tube. Rear drop outs were at 45' angle to allow tension with SS . Screw on freewheel . Threaded fork i think .
Looked a good pub or almost disposable bike.

It is on their French website, under Cycle, then VTT loisir.
It is called the Vitamin and cost 79.90 euros.
I hope it helps.Posted 2 years ago # -

from the description above it sounds like I could get a similarly shite bike from Asda or Tesco for £50-ish...

It looks like a Halfords special, but made SS. Hi tensile steel frame and fork, personally I'd stick to an SS conversion over that any day.
Posted 2 years ago # -
Make a half decent shopping bike I suppose at least its no great loss if someone has away with it.

Aluminium rims, aluminium levers, branded steel pedals, metal V-brakes, 29lb. I'd be surprised if a £50 job from Tesco punches quite that high.

Typical 80 Euro's over in frogland suddenly becomes £80 here...
I'll pass today thanks...Posted 2 years ago # -
Thought it ticked all the STW boxes
but not a bargain in my book .Halfords voodoo cycle sale is much better.
Cross bike Limba now £350 was £700
bakor or something £375 was £600 ish.Posted 2 years ago # -

So which bit of the page with the big orange "99 Euros" on it were you reading then?
Posted 2 years ago # -
Hmm, the headline Product advantage is apparently It was not easy to move! according to the Google translation. My A-level French from *cough* years ago reckons that's not quite what they're saying...
Posted 2 years ago # -
Or, broadly, "it's never been so simple to move yourself" according to any reasonable translation.
Posted 2 years ago # -
looks alright, whats to-do

The point I was making was that priced at £80 over here we are effectivly paying £10 more than our continental cousins for the same bit of tat... surely like for like it should be £70 in UK stores?
Although last night it was priced at 79.97 Euros online, followed the same link to the french site this morning and it's become 99 Euro's, Buy now! before the UK price becomes £100...

It looks absolutely gash, are you all on crack?

Friend of mine was looking at the Bokor the other week.

I would much rather see really cheap bikes like this rigid and singlespeed. Those crap "21 speed dual suspension" 'bikes' are too awful for words.

Indeed.
Posted 2 years ago # -
the sheffield store has loads of these in - for an around town bike they look awesome, and actually seem to have decent kit on. much better quality than cheapy halfords/tesco etc...
Posted 2 years ago # -
Snobs.....
Posted 2 years ago # -
I think that's a great round-town hack for the money, if you can persuade someone to avoid those £99 21-speed FS disasters i'm sure this would be far more fun to ride. I really like it.
It's probably no worse a bike than the one i first started off-roading on and i had a lot of fun on that cheap Raleigh, it got me hooked in the first place despite being bought for more general use. If bikes like this do that for others now then it's all good.
Posted 2 years ago # -
For the price, the only thing i don't like the look of is the threaded headset. If it was a threadless job i might treat myself.
Posted 2 years ago # -
looks like a decent station bike

It's off-topic, but for the person asking about cheap Voodoo, they've got some in Halfords in Twickenham.
