Me and the Mrs fancy riding the Caly canal Fort Bill to Inverness. Has anyone done it before is there a cycle track/towpath all the way we want to keep road miles to a minimum.

We want to do it really leisuely stopping off to view sites and look for monsters. We want to spend 4 days up there 1st day do the Ben red route, 2nd day ride to Fort Augustus, 3rd day explore the area a bit, 4th day ride to Inverness. My sister who doesnt ride is going in her car and will be the support carrying gear and spare midge cream. Anyone got any route or accomodation info would be appreciated.

It's discontinuous. There are some off-road extensions via what was the Great Glen Cycleway. Once you get to Fort Augustus, you need to either take the old road on the SE side of Loch Ness or detour into the hills on the NW side.

    Some nice scenery though…
