    He resigned this morning.

‘The announcement was unexpected in that Mr Diamond had made it clear to staff in a memo 24 hours earlier that he had no intention of falling on his sword – saying it was his responsibility to restore the bank’s reputation.’

I assume he was pushed. This could save me the hassle of moving my account.

Pity he wasn’t closer to a hideous, rocky cliff. And chained to others of his ilk.

It’s going to be interesting to see how this plays out – now that he’s “uncuffed” there’s a good chance that the gloves will be off at the Parliamentary Select Committee hearing later this week… and the BoE is most likely to come out of that pretty badly given it’s now clear they knew a number of banks were doing this and appeared to give tacit approval.

I’m not feeling particularly vengeful towards bankers today..but I’d still have em all lowered into a vat of acid feet first…

And notice that the Chairman (equally responsible for the practices) has now un-resigned so that he can choose a replacement.

    Plus ca change…

Oh that’s right, blame the working man for the excesses of the wealthy. (Binners are blokes what empty bins, aren’t they?)

Go to NatWest. Quality service from those guys. You know, as long as you don’t need to be able to get hold of your money or pay any bills. It’s their money now.

I hope that when lloyds sell up a bunch of their high st branches that the coop bank picks up the empty space in our village. I doubt they will bit it would be nice to have an ethical alternative with a handy branch.

IT was indeed my fault. He phoned me last night for a bit of advice. I said “listen Bobby lad, you can stay in your job, forfeit you’re bonus, and get a ton of shit. Or….. OR…. you can (at this point I put on a whiney middle-class cockbag voice) ‘do the right thing’.

Bobby, mate… Doing the right thing would involve you waltzing off into the sunset, Eric and Ernie style, with a £20-30 million pay-off in your arse sky-rocket. And… AND…. bonus (snigger) this one…. if anyone asks you any questions after that, you can tell ’em to **** right off!!! In fact… if you really wanted to make a point, you could go all Liam Gallagher and punch the ****er

    Whats it to be Bobby?

Glad to know someone listens to me. You lot could learn a lot from Bob 😀

Diamond geezer is an American citizen, afaik – can we deport him, or better still, render him unto a US military facility? 😈

(And yes, Nu-Libor deserve full scrutiny for their lax regulation & potential complicity – but that doesn’t excuse the self-aggrandising Bob-head & the dysfunctional banking culture which produced him).
