Does anyone know if SRAM's mtb and road systems utilise exactly the same cable pull? A friend has just trashed a Rival rear mech on his 'cross bike and I happen to have an old ESP-something rear mech in my spares box. Obviously it's not a long-term solution – but he seems to think it's not even a short term one and he's of the opinion that the actual cable pull differs between the mtb and road systems.

Does anyone know for sure either way?

Of course, we could just try it, but I thought I might as well ask!
