Bought a litte, ahem “treat” for Christmas – new PC with HDMI output.

Quite fancy a new monitor, anyone running one with HDMI signal in? I’ll probably be running it at native 1920 x 1080 so like to think quality would be decent (spotted a BenQ one with built in speakers).

I know DVI adaptors are available, just birthday coming up and all that… 😀

Yeah, I have used my laptop like that in the past for movies etc as the laptop has a blu-ray player… works fine for me, nice and clear.

    Yup.

22″ Samsung at 1080p. Looks great but wasn’t exactly “plug-n-play”. I had to update the graphics card drivers and fanny around with overscan settings to correct the output.

    Yeah I use a cheapo Dabs.com ‘value’ 28″ Hanns-G one here; fantastic.

    My current monitor is the NEC EA231WMi 23″ 8-bit e-IPS 1920×1080

Just DVI, DisplayPort and D-Sub inputs though. No HDMI.
But a HDMI to DVI converter should cost ~£10.
