34kms to give the legs a stretch. Extremely windy but clever route choice meant I was sheltered for a lot of the way by trees, none of which fell on me, which was nice. I met 2 groups of people out in the woods, all dolled up to the nines with their posh Chrimbo gear on. Obviously carrying out Christmas day traditions of going for a family walk. They couldn't have been more miserable and rude if they tried! My cheery hellos and merry christmas greetings were met with silence, looking away and in one case the group which was large enough to block a wide fireroad, refused to allow room for me to pass. This resulted in a walking pace game of chicken, which I won but left me wondering why they were so miserable on Christmas day of all days. Everyone I normally meet in the woods are friendly or at the very least acknowledge you.
