    Hi,

    I have a 700×24 rim on my commuter. Currently I have a 700×47 tyre on there, but was wanting something smaller and a bit lighter for summertime.

    Would a 700×28 tyre fit ok, or should I go with a 700×32 tyre?

    Cheers,

    Should be fine.

    I ran On-One 29er disc wheels with 700×23 tyres on them and they worked fine :O)

    I have seen charts along the lines of the schwalbe one, linking tyre widths and rim widths.

    I'm just wondering if they are actually whats possible, or completely HSE orientated?

    There is one on the Sheldon Brown site which I always though was more experience based rather than being HSE based.

    Here -> http://www.sheldonbrown.com/tire-sizing.html

    Actually that's the same chart as the Schwalbe one…realised it's by someone from Stuttgart University.

    To answer the OP, I've no experience of this but the chart suggests you should be alright! 😉
    (assuming 24 is the external width of the rim)

    I might just go for the 32's …
