    njee20, there is a correlation between seat post and seat tube sizes, it's just not very precise. It basically means that the seat post cannot be greater in diameter than the seat tube.

    njee20 is clearly well aware of this. But there is no correlation between the DOWNTUBE and the seatpost size. Basically pedantry, as it was obvious what the op meant.

    I have a bike with a 34.9 not a Kona and the seat post is 30.9 but I don't think you could guarantee it's the same for all?
