hey everyone welcome to single track my
0:04
name's Will and today we have some
0:06
exciting news for you because Canyon is
0:08
launching a brand new mountain bike the
0:10
bike in question is the 2019 neuron CF
0:13
now the neuron is a name you'll probably
0:15
be familiar with already it's been in
0:17
the canyon line up for a few years and
0:18
the current aluminium neuron remains in
0:21
the lineup this bike however is the
0:23
neuron CF and the CF stands for carbon
0:26
fiber it's a short travel trail bike and
0:28
it's designed to slot right in between
0:30
the lux cross country race bike and the
0:33
spectral long travel trail bike the
0:35
neuron CF features 130 millimeters of
0:38
travel front and rear it's got the new
0:40
triple phase suspension design which
0:41
we've seen on other Canyon full
0:43
suspension models which aside from
0:44
providing a slightly different ride
0:46
characteristic to the previous
0:47
suspension design it also allows for
0:49
more stand over clearance over the top
0:51
tube while still having enough room for
0:53
a water bottle inside the main frame
0:54
some other neat features of this frame
0:56
it comes with a threaded bottom bracket
0:58
shell which is thumbs up from us there's
1:00
also really neat tooless a quick-release
1:02
axle for the rear wheel and up at the
1:05
head shoe we have the impact protection
1:07
unit which is designed to stop the bars
1:09
from over rotating in the event of a
1:10
crash last but not least there's the
1:12
ingenious cable routing solution which
1:15
sees external cables covered by bolt on
1:18
armor which gives it a really sleek look
1:20
and also keeps them protected as well
1:22
now the neuron CEF is largely based
1:24
around 29 inch wheels so that's what
1:26
you'll get if you're on a medium large
1:28
or extra-large frame size the smaller
1:30
sizes the extra small and the small will
1:33
come with 27.5 inch wheels and that's to
1:35
keep everything in proportion to the
1:37
size of the rider in terms of geometry
1:39
it's fairly conservative we've got a 67
1:42
point 5 degree head angle and a 74 point
1:44
five degree seat angle on the medium
1:46
frame size we tested the reach is 433
1:50
millimeters so it's not overly slack or
1:52
overly long in the realms of short
1:53
travel trail bikes but Kenyon has
1:55
designed this to be a versatile trail
1:57
bike it was designed to go uphill and
1:58
spend plenty of time being peddled
2:00
around all day long all round though
2:02
this is a very easy to ride trail bike
2:05
the handling is quite fast and intuitive
2:07
and that's aided by 51 millimeter offset
2:09
fork which provides fairly quick and
2:11
light steering the cockpit itself we've
2:13
got seven
2:14
hundred and sixty millimeter wide bars
2:15
mated to a sixty millimeter stem except
2:18
on the smaller sizes which will come
2:19
with a slightly narrow handlebar to keep
2:21
that in proportion with the rider size
2:23
there will be four models available in
2:25
the new neuron CF and that will kick off
2:27
with the neuron CF 8.0 which is gonna be
2:30
selling for two thousand four hundred
2:32
and forty nine pounds in the UK and
2:34
three thousand nine hundred and forty
2:36
nine dollars in Australia the top of the
2:38
range neuron CF 9.0 ultimate is going to
2:42
top out at five thousand and ninety nine
2:44
pounds and in Australia that will sell
2:46
for eight thousand one hundred and forty
2:47
nine dollars there are also B to women's
2:50
spec models which use the same frame as
2:52
the other models but with a women's
2:53
specific bill kit now if you'd like to
