Absolute amazing looking beast
0:10
That means a lighter motor. Sorry, I've cocked it up. Hey everyone, Andy Sykes here from Singletrap Magazine and I'm here with the brand new Saracen
0:23
aerial 50e elite emtb this is the top of the range emtb from saracen for 2022 now if you remember a
0:32
few years ago we actually took the previous version of the saracen emtb up peck it well in a race it
0:39
was a kind of a top gear style where we raced up using the motor and we raced down testing out the
0:44
suspension now obviously if you look at that previous bike and this new one there are some big
0:48
changes. Geometry is one of them. This is longer and lower, just as all modern bikes are. But I
0:55
think the biggest one is the integration of the battery. That previous bike had the external
1:00
Shimano system, and this has a battery built in. Now, not only does that make it a better looking
1:06
bike, but it also improves the handling because you've got a much lower sensor of gravity
1:10
Instead of weight all above, you've got it all down below, so it's easy to whip around corners
1:15
and turns. Now speaking about the EP8 system, Shimano have changed a lot with this. Not only
1:21
have they given it more power and a lighter weight motor, they've actually reduced drag and they've
1:26
actually increased efficiency if you're running it in eco mode. And to be honest, when I've been
1:31
riding Shimano equipped bikes, eco is usually enough until you're on a really steep hill
1:36
So if you run this in eco, it should be 30% more efficient than the previous version
1:40
What's more, you've got a new controller which is molded to fit into your thumb nicer
1:46
We got a new display which has Bluetooth connectivity so you can connect it to your Garmin And if you do that you get a battery percentage instead of a battery bar which I think is a bit more accurate Also Shimano have made this system future with new lightweight
2:01
that's right, lightweight wires. It's not going to save much weight, but those wires also allow better data transfer
2:07
So in the future, when Shimano add on new features, you don't need to worry about your EPA being out of date
2:14
aluminium frame on this with 160mm travel on the front and 150mm on the rear now Saracen do
2:21
wheel size specific sizing on this bike so this large has 29 inch wheels front and rear but if you
2:28
go for a smaller bike you get a mullet option so the rear wheel doesn't buzz your butt as you go
2:32
off jumps now this is the complete pimp spec so it has some really really nice features on here
2:38
such as the Fox 38 factory fork with Kashima coating. That is the e-bike specific version of the fork too
2:46
So it's designed for the harder hitting and faster progress you make on an EMTB
2:51
The rear shock on here is a Fox DHX2. So we've got a coil shock on there
2:56
So it's going to be really good over small bumps and be able to eat up all those massive drops
3:01
and things you can do on this big e-bike. Now Saracen are using the Shimano EP8 motor on here
3:07
Now the EP8 is the updated version of the Shimano Steps system with 85 newton meters of torque instead of 70 newton meters
3:15
And it has a new application meaning that you can adjust how that power is delivered and how much torque you want in different modes
3:23
And that's good news because Saracen have used a 504 watt hour battery in here rather than the 625
3:30
Now the reason they've done that is because it cuts down on the weight of the bike and
3:34
means that this is still really agile and fun to throw around
3:38
And because you have that adjustability in the app you don really have to worry about range anxiety as well So that a really smart feature If you looking for a medium travel free downhill bike that easy to check about
3:51
this could be one to look at. Specification on this, as I say, is top of the range, and it gets Shimano XT all over
3:59
We've got four-piston brakes, we've got a 12-speed drivetrain on here, XT chain set
4:04
and we've even got decent tyres. We've got Maxxis Minion DHR2 on the front and on the rear too. DT Swiss wheels, so you know you're
4:12
not going to worry about buckling or breaking a spoke on the aggressive downhills. And to save a
4:18
little bit of weight, we've got this really nice race face carbon bar too. Overall, a really lovely
4:23
package. This one is $6,499.99. And as this is the large, it has a pretty decent large reach as well
4:32
505 millimeters on this and that's with a 65 degree head tube angle 76 degree seat tube angle
4:39
now if you go down a size to the size medium you still get a really big reach it's 480
4:45
now those sizes are on on par with what pole are doing with their bikes and although i've not
4:51
ridden that and i have ridden a pole they are amazing super stable at speed but you can really
4:56
lean on the front of them to get them around corners so i'm really excited to see how this
5:01
does on the trail. So that's it. That's the brand new Saracen Aerial 50E Elite. If you have any
5:08
questions, let us know in the comments below and also check out our first look story over on
5:13
singletrackworld.com. If you fancy buying one of these, you are in luck because Saracen actually

5:30
Can't wait to get it out on the trail and get it dirty. See you all soon Bye soon bye bye Down we go
6:33
Thank you
7:03
now this is the top of the range model so it costs 64 000 no it doesn't
7:22
64 000 pounds well shoot this is this is it now i'm going to make tons of mistakes
