Snowboard Holiday Starter Pack

The clocks have gone back and, for some mountain bikers, thoughts are turning to more wintry pursuits, like snowboarding and skiing. Handily, here at the Singletrack Snow channel, we are already starting to think of getting out on the slopes – and what we’re going to need to get there.

And now that season is approaching, we’re getting ourselves geared up for the holidays that we haven’t booked yet. Maybe we won’t need a holiday, and the annual floods will be replaced with a white winter? We can hope.

To start off our graceful slide towards the winter months, Dakine has provided us with a ‘best of’ holiday essentials to get us closer to the piste. Let’s take a look at what they consider to be the best of the range this season.

Dakine Split Roller 85L

This roller bag is divided into three sections internally, with two outer pockets. There are handles in all the places you could want them, external straps, a collapsible brace for extra support and lockable zips.

Made from a heavyweight Cordura® canvas that offers a durable water repellent and wax finish. It also has a Tarmac Ripstop lining, so in theory you can be as rough as you like with this one!

Dakine Team Heli Pro 20l Women’s Snow Pack

This women’s specific fit snow pack is packed full of great features, including a vertical snowboard carry or diagonal / A-frame ski carry, snow tool/shovel pocket, front pocket, fleece lined goggle pocket, a rescue whistle and plenty more to keep you safe and organised.

Dakine Team Poacher 22L

Dakine team rider Elias Elhardt inspired backpack to celebrate his love of the natural world, featuring diagonal & A-frame ski carry, vertical snowboard carry, helmet carry, fleece lined goggle pocket, side & hipbelt pockets, rescue whistle and much more!

Dakine Team Fleetwood Mitt

These mitts score a 3 out of 5 on the Dakine warmth scale, making them a good all-rounder option that you could wear with liners on the coldest of winters. They feature a high loft synthetic insulation, a 300g fleece lining, and DK Dry™ waterproof insert to keep hands dry and warm for a full day of riding.

Dakine Goggle Stash

This handy goggle stash fits large goggles, is fully padded and fleece lined with an internal mesh pocket, built-in removable desiccant pouch and a padded separator for extra lenses.

Dakine Low Roller Snowboard Bag

This wheeled snowboard case holds two boards (one with bindings, one without), boots and outerwear. It’s padded in all directions, comes with a lockable boot bag and an exterior pocket. The handle pairs with a suitcase handle to give you a one-handed operation, but make sure to frequently switch arms.

Dakine Deluxe Tune Kit

A multi pocket case that includes an edge tuning tool, 10″ file, wire file cleaning brush, metal scraper, 10″ wax scraper, pocket stone, Ptex, octane bar all temperature wax, scuff pad and tuning tips. In theory, if it’s not in here you don’t need it.

Now we just need to service our boards and book some flights…
