Nice feel and good production values overall. The geography of the routes in the book is a little weird, mainly central belt of Scotland, very few in far north or the Outer Hebrides. South west is also thin! I found the route descriptions a bit dull really, and not easy to relate to the maps as there is no cross referencing, ie using numbering system or some such. In fact the maps are rather too small scale to be of much use (the GPX files will be used by many I guess bit I prefer paper maps for route-planning). I want to like this book, the idea is a good one, but it leaves me wanting more detail and a better spread of routes. I am giving it 4* as it’s a welcome addition to similar recent books (such as Ed Shoote’s “Gravel Rides Scotland”), it is beautifully produced with lovely photographs for inspiring us, PLUS I want to see a ‘Bikepacking Scotland 2’ which covers the ground missed by this one!
