Does indeed look like the Aldi one, which pumps great but don’t rely on the gauge, it’s woefully inaccurate.

    1. Actually get off my BFA and find out this shit for myself.

From a different number you text them on obviously. 👍

Pretty sure they’re not (you’re thinking of sliding or rocker dropouts),

*sigh – I said I was going to leave it, but here I am again. I understood the

Actually, no fuck it. I’m not getting sucked in. Have a great weekend, may your tracknuts remain torqued.

Charming isn’t the word I’d use. Butch you can have.

Just been to see about my broken SKX, (couple of pages back now) the watchmaker says it’s not winding, which I’m a bit dubious of, but he is going to repair it. Taken him a week to get that far, good job I’m in no massive hurry for it! 😁

    I did Paris-Roubaix on this:

I’ve done Tour of Flanders 86 miler twice on my DayOne. Did the new length 107 miles this year, bailed to gears and don’t regret the decision one bit!

Why are people discussing rear disc brakes on a fixed gear thread?

Well the original question has been answered so it’s wandered off topic, but yeah, I’ll shut up now. 🤐

How do disk brakes fare with track ends?

How do disk brakes fare with track ends?

Well not really, those are special drop outs with brakes that can slide along with the axle. You have to have some kind of positional adjustment to get the pads tracking the disk properly.

Service price is all inclusive. Add the hourly rate to to change the movement, put all the sundry seals, cleaning etc. to the parts price, probably* works out more than a service.

    *IANA Watchmaker.

I fell off my DayOne on the way to work this morning. Big stick in the rear mudguard folded that up. Falling off as a consequence put a big hole in the knee of my tights. 🙁

Have you looked at Condor? Not cheap these days but a Tempo would fit the bill I think?

That just came to me too, beaten to it as usual! Really nice looking bike, I’d have one of those in the opposite braking circumstance – I want disks not rims.

Gensis Flyer? Not sure it’s in the current line up, but your requirements are pretty specific, you’ll not have a massive amount of choice.

  • the heater wiring loom that caught fire on the A66 necessitating a rapid bailout of my terrified family while dad went to work with the extinguisher;

Bloody hell, with all those problems you should have let it burn! Would have been a kindness.

  • Did you talk her back into it when she first worked it out? Should have ‘fessed up then.

That orient is nice, and I’m not really a fan of the others people have linked on here. 44mm though, too big!

  • That’s a marvelous, considered and balanced response there DrP.

… would be the furthest thing from my mind to make the details public knowledge..

Me too hodgynd, but I’m the sort of idiot who’d try and man up through it and loose out on the genuinely meant help that people offer on here, likely to my detriment.

    That’s my opinion and I’m not…[Read more]

It’s the Limited designation which defines the spec level, but yeah, my Connect is Limited. Heated windscreen and washer jets, awesome at this time of the year

I did do a long journey in mine, Cheshire to mid-Belgium with a piss stop and the train break. No comfort issues at all. Recently had the ‘pleasure’ of sitting in a BMW Mini from London to Cheshire. My arse bones were killing before the M25. Like bike saddles, car seats are very individual comfort wise, unfortunately not so easy to change if you…[Read more]

What I can do however is ‘code it out’ – ie have my self-assessment update my tax code, meaning that the amount due for 2018/19 comes out of PAYE from April 2020. That to me seems the sensible way to do it. However, the cut-off date for that being possible (not advertised anywhere I can see) is December 31

They told me just this week that I cou…[Read more]
