Sofa, so good 😀
The cats have shown 0 interest in shredding the new sofa!
I’ve bought a roll of double sided tape, I’ll try it out on the older sofa where it’s been shredded and see if it makes a difference 😀
tall_martin replied to the topic Two bikes that do essentially the same thing, what would you do? in the forum Bike Forum 2 days ago
Build it differently.
My hardtail and full suss can both be ridden round my local woods. The hardtail has much lighter wheels and tyres that would be fine round something rockier, the full suss has tyres and wheels that are significantly tougher for much rougher trails.
I could have one, or one with two sets of wheels.
It’s nicer to have two b…[Read more]
Nikolai have been going for ages and keep parts in stock for 10 years.
They made me a new chain stay when I stuffed mine- through user error. If I’d bought mine new it would have been covered under warranty
So I’ll recommend what I have- a geometron😀
We have a couple of cats and a new sofa is arriving next week.
They have shredded the old one. The only thing that stops this is a throw. Scratching posts parked directly infront of the favorite scratching place were pushed aside in favor of the couch.
Other than a throw has anything else preserved your sofas?

Dyson have a refurbished outlet.
£130 for a v6
£260 for v8

I’ve just bought one. It looked like new and works fine (for now). There is a one year warranty on the refurbished ones, 2 for new.

I’ve done it for the last 3 years.
Its been a highlight of my year each time!
Thanks again for organising it Rich 🙂
I had a segment- the stage 4 predecessor.
To get round the lack of bottle cage I bought a alpkit frame bag and put a camel back bag in. This works fine and I still use the same thing on my geometron as that doesn’t have a bottle cage either.
Mine was an xl and it took 2L of water which was fine for all day summer rides. I drink a bottle b…[Read more]
Distance 1,8635 miles
Height gain 236,614 ft
No long road rides over 50miles this year but a week and a bit in whistler certainly bumped up the height gain 😀
Not sure what next year holds as we have just had a son 😀
Also, clip on aero bars are great for some free speed, a different hand position and a place to put stuff.
This is rubbish advise if there is a group as your hands are miles from brakes and they always feel a bit wobbly to me for the first 50 miles
Bikes of the 2017 Jen ride can be seen here
I’ve seen rig rundowns for things like the tour divide. What about checking out one of those for similar terrain to you?
I’ve bike packed on:
Raleigh alloy frame with 100mm fork
Fine, broke that frame riding down steps😀

tall_martin replied to the topic Learning to ski at 56….. How stupid an idea is that? in the forum Chat Forum 2 weeks ago
A mate did his first skiing holiday when he retired aged 60.
I think he’s been every year for the last 10.
What have you got to stop you? Will you go for the first time in 10 years, cold you be going for the 10th time in 10 years?
