Reply to: Flexible Solar Panel Installation
I need to have a flexible one as positioning is not suitable for a fixed. Also looking to keep weight down where possible.Posted 6 months ago | Go to post
Photonic Universe method is what I think I’ll go for with mppt controller to maximise conversion efficiency when needed.

I’ve been using the softer compound version on a 26inch 150/160mm bike. Easy to go up tubeless, light and the chunky monkey is predictable and pretty grippy in most conditions except slop. Smorgasbord a bit less so and spins out easily. If you just ride trail centre stuff through the winter they are great for the price.
Also softer compound doesnt wear as quickly as a super tacky type maxxis though I read are meant to be from the same factory.Posted 1 year ago | Go to post
Has anyone tried
Madison DTE Waterproof Trousers AW17
I’m looking at this post with interest and these seem to fit the bill but I could do with some real life experience reports! Fed up with half waterproof nonsense.Posted 1 year ago | Go to post
Reply to: Aren’t Hope brakes awesome?
Slight hi jack. When bleeding your M4’s donyou have bite point and reach would in or out fully?
I have tried both and it doesn’t seem to make much difference but am struggling to get rid of the amount of throw mine seem to constantly have?Posted 1 year ago | Go to post
Reply to: Bell super dh or giro switchblade?
I have a full face for dh stuff and bike parks but can’t see myself lugging it round an Enduro track for 30 miles hence the requirement for detachable.
I think I’m more or less sold in the bell but need to check its fit.
All my helmets are giro currently and fit greatPosted 1 year ago | Go to post
Reply to: Longshot Rocket or Aeris 145LT?
I will be going from a large Rocket 26″ so interested in sizing as well. I would imagine a large on either would work for me. I am a shade over 6ft and when tested the 27.5 rocket pre long shot found not a lot of difference but large worked better as easier to manuvure slightly.Posted 1 year ago | Go to post
Reply to: Longshot Rocket or Aeris 145LT?
Tested the pre long shot rocket the week before the new one came out. Not sure how different the new one would feel from the one I tested.
Will get to cwm carn and test out the bird I think before going any further.
Bird seems to get a little more for your money but the Cotic rode so well when I tested it!Posted 1 year ago | Go to post
Reply to: Pimp my Rocket26
Just received some offset bushings and will be installing tomorrow so will let you know. Mine is currently in this flavour:
Large frame black
X fusion metric 160mm forks
RSP carbon bars 780mm
Renthal Duo stem 10° rise and 50mm
KS DX 175mm seat post
Stans flow mk3 rims on hope pro 2 hubs with on one chunky monkey and smorgasbord tyres
Hope m4 evo brakes 203/180mm rotors
M8000 xt 1x drivetrains
Raceface turbine cranks
Mallet dh pedals
Charge spoon saddle
I have mucked around with many components on it since I’ve had it and the biggest difference was the forks. So much better in rough stuff pointing downhill. Had 150mm revs on before.
I went from a 70mm stem to 50mm and again I find it better with wider bars for control.
Only thing i would now change is rear shock…. Oh and the frame as have ridden the 27.5 version and is very nice indeed!Posted 1 year ago | Go to post
Reply to: Haldon cotic demo?
We had Cotic down back at Haldon the week before the new Rocket came out. Amazing day and very knowledgeable. Swapped sizes and bikes. Loved the Rocket and still working out whether to go for the new one or the one I rode which was ace. The Helm forks are amazing to ride too.Posted 1 year ago | Go to post
Reply to: For those who love BPW
I’ve been 5 or 6 times in the last 18 months. Only once did the uplift ever not be spot on and then only had to wait on one of the 11 runs I got in a day.
We always go during the week. I wonder if its the weekends that the uplift is more strained?Posted 1 year ago | Go to post

Reply to: Cotic demo at Haldon
Was lucky enough to ride with Sam all Saturday as a private demo with a couple of mates. Rode Haldon official and unofficial then over to cafeside for a bit.
Rocket, Rocket Max and Flare Max tested between us.
Sam was great as were all the bikes. Can’t recommend them enough. My lovely old 26inch Rocket is going to be upgraded soon as a result.
Without really pushing it all segments I usually ride were near to or beaten on comparison when on the test Rocket. Oh and the Cane Creek Helm forks are well good!Posted 1 year ago | Go to post
Cotic Demo Day. Rocket, BFE and Rocket Max test out!Posted 1 year ago | Go to post
Reply to: KS Lev DX junction box Issue
I had it on the right way after rechecking as there is only really one way it can go to get the hole in the cover to fit the hook end. Still pops out at the top when mechinism is in use though so have done the o ring thing. Thanks for the tip.
Might try a Lev alloy one if they are the same size?Posted 1 year ago | Go to post
Reply to: Cwm Carn, it has been a while…
I rode yesterday both in a morning. Quite similar in many ways but with the pedalhounds option I preferred cafel. That was a great section for flat out fun!
Not mega fit myself and there are a couple of initial diversions but the initial climb for both I found pretty tough second time round!Posted 1 year ago | Go to post
I still have a galaxy invader 1000 too. Still just about works too!Posted 2 years ago | Go to post
Yep. Logging but it isn’t actually crossing any of the red (wasnt last week anyway) despite it being closed. Not that I’d recommend to cross the barrier of course.Posted 2 years ago | Go to post
