I’m 6’4″ and recently got a Specialized Diverge. It has the biggest stack out of all the ones I looked at as per my spreadsheet. I also run it with the stem flipped upwards for maximum uncoolness. If you wanted more rise you could get a more rise-y stem or some curly bars that have rise.

I got a bike through C2W from them last month, and a bunch of other stuff, great service. It sucks ass that some bawbags did that to them. I didn’t know that Bryan owned the place now either, he’s a young guy too, so it must’ve been a big commitment for him to take the place on in August, and for this to then happen, sheesh.

I’m in Fife where the SNP beat the LibDems by just 2 votes in 2017. I’ll likelyu vote SNP this time rather than LibDems as I think there’s less risk of them getting into bed with the Cons. Plus the LibDems revoke Brexit policy seems immature & their dodgy campaign leaflet figures made them look like they were joining the current fashion for lies.…[Read more]

  • I recently encountered this problem when I got a RRP front mudguard, solution for when putting bike flat into car is to lay the forks on a cardboard box. Simples! 🙂

I’d like to keep the 1x version as I may go 1x at some point.

  • Hi, I’ve just ordered my first dropper post, a BrandX Ascend II. I run 2x and it will come with a 1x-style lever. I’ve found the Bontrager Drop Line Universal Lever one that might work with it. The Bonty lever says “Nipple on the lever end”. Is that the right end to work with the Ascend II, and should it be an OK lever to use with it?

    Thanks for…[Read more]

I put it on my windscreen once, never again. It makes driving in rain like going into hyperdrive which I found quite distracting. Then I possibly made a mistake by putting my windscreen wipers on & it made some sort of horrible smear effect I could barely see through. Others will no doubt be along to say it is great.

I like it on the side windows…[Read more]

  • I eventually dragged myself out for a short local XC. To avoid approaching a horse rider from behind I did my route differently than intended & then explored a bit I’ve had my eye on from the Strava heatmap; it was horse-trodden soft grass & around a few muddy fields, but still enjoyable. I somehow escaped the further rain I was expecting, which…[Read more]

Ooft! It seems a bit much. The engines operate to some sort of mapping: a couple of years ago or so Alonso’s Honda engine mapping in Spa qually went dud towards the end of the lap because he was faster than expected so the engine wasn’t in the correct state – seems like much the same idea to have the brake balance vary over a lap.

  • I use a Butcher F&R on both my bikes now. Seems to work ok for me. Much better than the (old) purgatory in mud. Purgatory decent enough for less muddy stuff though.

  • I heard on the radio tonight that Google had made a working quantum computer, that must be the technology they’re on about.

  • I use the basic Cateye 3 LED one, and a Blackburn Mars, and never had any problems with either. Both use AAA batteries, and I put rechangeable ones.

I’ve never liked the idea of all the rubber band mounted ones hence I like the plastic mounts my ones come with.

Singlespeed has never really interested me; too many hills around my area (Fife, Scotland), and I’m too unfit. 🙂

Good video. I’ve been getting out on my 2008 Genesis Altitude with a triple chainset & bar ends whilst my Trance is getting fixed over the last few weeks, and it’s been great fun. It is harder work than my 140mm FS Trance & makes local XC routes more of a challenge. Putting new 2.3″ tyres on it has helped it feel pretty good too.

  • He didn’t say he wouldn’t send a letter, he said he wouldn’t negotiate an extension. I thought it was an odd way for him to say it but perhaps he intends to demand an unreasonably short extension which the EU won’t like, hence they don’t accept. Maybe.
