I use cotton tote bags…seem to have loads from giveaways, charity events etc Easy to hang up and stop helmets banging together. Safety pin to hold one strap out the way making it easier to take helmet in and out

… reading that back, that sounds all so inappropriate

  • nuke replied to the topic CRC wishlist function – gone? in the forum Chat Forum 1 day ago

Id been using their app and it went maybe a couple of weeks ago: thought it was a bug as you’d tap on the wishlist button, see the link for a second but then the offers page would load instead

  • nuke replied to the topic Portsmouth Naval Yard in the forum Chat Forum 4 days ago

Definitely a whole day out…we always enjoyed it, as did our kids. Must go again soon HMS Warrior was i think our favourite exhibit

  • nuke replied to the topic Best learner drive insurance? in the forum Chat Forum 1 week ago

Veygo…way cheaper than adding to our lv insurance, easy to get a quote and to renew and even found discount codes online that worked. Not looking forward to the quotes when he’s passed though 😬

  • nuke replied to the topic Battery chainsaws in the forum Chat Forum 1 week ago

Slightly different approach, i use a Makita cordless reciprocating saw using standard lxt 18v batteries; already had 18v batteries so just bought the body..with various blade options, lots of uses aside gardening duties and also useful for trail building/maintenance

  • Going to need to get that 10mm nut off… can’t imagine why its now stuck given you got this far unless the thread on the end of shaft is damaged

  • nuke replied to the topic Vitus Sommet CRS 2019 in the forum Bike Forum 1 week ago

They ship with rubbishy bearings as standard though, worth upgrading to MAX type with more bearings when the existing ones wear out.

This is so true. Me & two riding mates all have the 2018 Sommet CRX …the swingarm bearings on oldest/hardest ridden Sommet did collapse; it wasnt fatal to the frame but we’ve all either repacked the original…[Read more]

  • Im assuming you’ve checked the headphones don’t work when plugged in?

Have a G7 power and just plugged some headphones in: nothing shows on status bar that headphones are plugged in (unlike my OnePlus) but the sound is coming through the headphones fine

  • nuke replied to the topic Where are all the normal kids? in the forum Chat Forum 2 weeks ago

Growing up you think your family is normal then you leave home and, over time, establish whether your family were a bunch of crazies or everybody else is crazy…my son is leaving home to go to uni probably this year and i await his initial assessment of whether his family were fruit loops (not the breakfast cereal)

  • Been fine with mine. Just wondering why you’d think it wouldn’t work as I’d never even have given it a second thought?

  • nuke replied to the topic I need some new rims in the forum Bike Forum 1 month ago

I’d previously have said Stans having had crest & flow for years but these days DT Swiss rims would be my choice

  • The geometry calc I always use…

Bung the figures in there and have a play

  • nuke replied to the topic Should I bend my rim ding back? in the forum Bike Forum 1 month ago

Doesn’t look too bad but I’d get the adjustable spanner out and bend it back whilst I had the chance. I also put a metal ruler on the outside of the rim to protect the rim and provide a guide to how much spannering is required

  • nuke replied to the topic Lead paint. in the forum Chat Forum 1 month ago

I wouldn’t worry, yes be cautious and minimise dust spreading but, whilst lead is an accumulative heavy metal, it’s not in the realm of asbestos for example and you’d need long term heavy exposure (so bin the Roman lead cups)

  • nuke replied to the topic Do it all 29er HT trails/XC in the forum Bike Forum 1 month ago

The new OnOne Scandal sounds like what you’re after

  • Despite being around 5’9″, I prefer a low front end (find I get backache on longer rides if too upright) and Ive found that the stack height of 29ers too high for me and there’s only so far you can get the front down with flat bars & flipped stems…I prefer sub 600mm stack and that’s actually pretty rare on 29ers aside the XC hardtails and short…[Read more]

  • nuke replied to the topic Fuji Rajan 1.1 on CRC, thoughts? in the forum Bike Forum 1 month ago

    https://www.fujibikes.com/usa/bikes/mountain/trail/rakan/rakan-29-1-1

Geometry looks pretty good to me so at that price, looks a bit of a bargain as nice spec with Revs, GX, DT Swiss etc

Well I like the name 🍩

A frame both long & short at the same time!

  • nuke replied to the topic Kids and Food in the forum Chat Forum 1 month ago

Surprising reading this thread as my two (14 & 17) aren’t fussy (aside mushrooms & courgette) and never have been really. Don’t know whether that’s luck or how we did it from a young age… always eat meals together as a family, originally the classic no pudding if didn’t eat main, same food for everyone, varied menu each week (no repeats) and,…[Read more]

  • I’d think they’d be some flexibility if you could prove you shopped there that day but if you didn’t and also overstayed the assumably 2 hours max as well then I think it’d be a case of paying up

As I am a Waitrose customer , with a bone-fide Waitrose card and everything , I feel I am entitled to park there.
If I get challenged by the parking…
