Just watch the Ireland game – Jeez they were poor, but blimey the AB’s were good.   Its going to be a tough game next week.  I’m not sure England can do it, but they need to impose their game on them.

By the same token – and I mean this respectfully to the Irish, I’m not sure the AB;s have faced a team as tough as England will be as yet.   I ex…[Read more]

  • Out on the new Clockwork Evo with Jnr on his Whyte 403, an amazing time, and as I discovered the Clockwork Evo is an amazing bike:

Jeez.  Well I promised  report so, after a ride out with Jnr today:

So this is the first of a few modern standards for me – LLS, tyres over 2.25 in size, 780mm ‘bars, THAT 35mm Revelation, Debonair and 27.5.

I rode wet forest single track and roots, some big drop offs and general mush with bit of slosh.   So, I’m amazed at how sturdy and ba…[Read more]

  • I had this it was a stiff jockey wheel.  Just hold the chain of each jockey wheel and spin it with your fingers to check.

I’m starting to think this England team is quite a balance of power and skill now.   Awesome game, great game England.   Nothing better than to knock Aus out.  Can’t wait for Cheika’s interview….

One try from Aus and this is a very different game.  Still very nervous here.  Hooper lifted Billy V – should have had 10.

No.  And not necessarily bulky as there’s various ways of attaching them to the watch.  The are lighter, quieter, more flexible and more interchangeable than a metal bracelet.

Sometimes I like a bracelet, sometimes not.

    but bloody awful in mud

Well, most of the reviews I read were spouting about awesome grip in mud and on roots, which will be precisely my application.   I’ll feed back on Saturday, and if no good I’ll swap it to a Viglante or similar.

Spent lunchtime going tubeless with a track pump on both ends, frame protection under the cables is on and the…[Read more]

  • Looks lovely.   equally I’m waiting for some tubeless valves to turn up before I can ride my new one tomorrow.    Inspired by Tracey’s pictures in the “weekend” thread, I’m quickly coming to a conclusion that there need to be a heavy fun bike outside of racing.

Look forward to the ride report.

  • Just think of the watt savings

No watt savings on this shits & giggles bike.   Such talk is heresy when riding it.

  • On my wrist.

This is a fair point – instead of using my elmnt and specifically because this is my play-bike I’m talking about I will use my Instinct instead.

  • I’ll try Scotroutes tape idea, thanks.

  • I tried the bars but they are shiny and tapered and seeing as I have a wahoo mount with requiring cables ties, it slips down.

Any obvious remedies other than a backpack?

  • For Sale my 2016 Vitus Rapide 29er (non boost).   Its been ridden and raced but in VGC, with a few upgrades: American Classic MTB race wheels (15mm and 12mm…

A while ago my MIL bought me one of those Dryrobes.  So I strip off in the man cave, dry robe on, kit rinsed with a hose and bucket and transported to the washing machine.

    Thanks MH.

The dropper remote is bobbins though, we replaced with a Bonty which is much better.

Yes it smacks of simplicity, yes the fiddliness of shortening the cable meant I accidently pulled into the frame and, 90 mins and some sore thumbs from threading and pulling cable – the post seems to need a lot of tension to move – has left me not…[Read more]

It is a 2.6, the pic belies its size!

It was on discount AND it should be half funded by the sale of another bike.    Not a lot of dry hardback around my local currently, and my only point of reference will be a 2.2. Barzo which is a very different tyre, but I will feed back.  I’ll be riding it at Swinley and Hadleigh over winter so should get an…[Read more]

I think its a mistake dropping Ford.

No Scottish advice thanks, we want to get into the final 😉

  • Kryton57 replied to the topic Rugby World Cup Thread 2019 in the forum Chat Forum 2 days ago

My personal opinion is that Ford is the better stand off. But, I don’t know how well he will cope with the pressure that will be on the England 10.

Not a good record in the past.

And btw, AF stopped his short career playing for England rugby union some time ago, I suspect you mean his little boy Owen…
