I’d be very surprised if you couldn’t find a 41kWh Zoé for that money and it would do a 100mile return trip in poor conditions on a charge with about 25% left if you stick to truck speed on the motorway.

I had a 41kWh Zoé for 2 1/2 years until I traded it in for the 52kWh model. The battery showed no sign of deterioration, I’d looked after it, k…[Read more]

Most people are convicted on evidence they give themselves IIRC from my days on the prosecution side of court cases. I hope that solicitor is going to do more than just be present. Your son needs advice on what to say.

I’ve got some Rossignol Medaille de Bronze wooden skis with Look GT bindings from the 60s. Screwed on edges and a blue polythene base. They’re very heavy and very hard work, but surprisingly fast. I don’t use them very often, my knees don’t like them. They should really be used for decoration rather than skiing.

Run your hand down the side of the neck, if the ends of the frets are jaggy they might need filed. If you have blood on your palms after, they most definitely do.

On the other hand if the fret ends are too rounded the e strings tend to fall off the end. I had to fit a narrower nut on a Mexican Fender to move the strings away from the overly…[Read more]

not my finest moment I’d agree

Don’t worry about it, you didn’t try to strangle him or thump him.

Sounds like you’re at the open war stage. He’s going for maximum provocation, you’re the target of all his frustrations and anger. Why? I figured it was because he could. Anyone else would have locked him up, beat shit out of him, thrown him o…[Read more]

I’m still using the original strings on the bass and five of the original strings on the tele. I moved the b to g and the e to b and put an 8 on e. They feel fine and sound fine. As for durability, I’ve rarely had strings last so long, long enough for fret wear to show.

  • Edukator replied to the topic Harley Benton Guitars in the forum Chat Forum 1 day ago

I’ve got a tele and a bass. Both required some work:

The tele needed the nut filing (at least it hadn’t been cut to deep which would have been worse – if yours has send it back). The neck and body are very good. I like it so much I replaced some of the hardware and the pickups.

The bass just required a basic setup and the pickup refitting on…[Read more]

Metalheart is responsible for me spending 3 hours relearning Sharp Dressed Man. The Gibbons and John F vid followed his linked vid. It’s the first vid where I’ve seen Gibbons playing the complete riff live and he uses a couple of cheats that make it much easier. Ta, metalheart.

  • Something I’ve noticed when visiting friends is that those with the plushest cars also have the most austere houses with the least comfortable sofas. The sort of sofas where there’s nowhere to rest your head and the squab is too long for your legs, yet their cars have seats nearly as comfortable as my super plush sofa.

With the exception of entry…[Read more]

    That’s looks great.

Given that the control plate is further forward than on a normal tele I’d be tempted to put the switch at the back like a blacktop to avoid unwanted switching to the bridge pickup. It’s a problem I have on Strats. I also wire Strats like a tele with just the lower two knobs, The standard Strat has no tone control on the bridge…[Read more]

Do you really not believe that Roundup is toxic to humans, Cougar ? Despite all the studies. I find that surprising. The French government has based its approach on a report that includes:

    Says the statistical illiterate.

Insult will get you nowhere. Good statisticians know the limits of statistics. In any situation where there is background noise, weak but real correlations are masked by the noise and cannot be “proven”. You might need to get humidity lower than 45% to avoid condensation. Is there condensation on other cold surfaces? Check thermal bridges, any poorly insulated walls, especially corners or behind furniture up against a wall, doors which are often less well insulated than windows.

  • Definitely Maybe.

The lack of UK media interest in Europe continues. Still nothing on the BBC site about the on-going storm in the Med which has so far killed 3 in Spain and on its way to flooding large areas. If it were in Australia it would be headline news.
