Just built up my MK4 today and was well pleased. It replaced a MK2 Which is had for about 3 years and loved. Took it out for a couple hours today on and off road and it’s definitely still a real blast. The front end took a while to get used to but it feels just great now and I’ve found the technique to hop and manual it that I had…[Read more]

Shiny new Stooge MK4 with the 57mm offset forks for 27.5 geo.
Just taken it round the town for a quick blast and impressions are good so far. It replaces the MK2 stooge which I sadly killed a few weeks ago. The front end feels quite different at this stage and doesn’t pop up as easily as the MK2 (longer fork rake I guess) but im sure i’ll have…[Read more]

  • Ah bloody hope cranks….. Just put up a post on the other thread about this. I fitted mine on a new frame yesterday and even after I’ve done it 4 times now it’s still a massive faff. I can only move the adjustment ring about half a turn before it’s locked against the crank arm but at least there’s no play…. Just such a load of work compared to…[Read more]

  • donks replied to the topic Frame snapped at chainstay in the forum Bike Forum 1 week ago

Sheared the chainstay on my Stooge last week…..also very gutted as it’s my only bike and was out of warrantee but called Andy at Stooge and have come to a deal on a new MK4 which is lovely. Was going to get it repaired but couldn’t resist a shiny new one. Still bloody waiting for 15mm wheel axle conversions off the internet though.

  • The hope crank is great looking especially with the direct mount ring and works fine when fitted…..but I can contest to the major faffage of installation as I did mine on my new frame yesterday. I’ve had the cranks for about a year and have had them off about 4 times now. The first time I fitted them myself and they came loose so got a shop to…[Read more]

Just seen somewhere Lego are bringing out a nearly 4000 piece scale version of Old Trafford stadium…. For the love of god.

  • The police were the first band I saw live at Milton Keynes bowl in 1980. Flippin ace it was (even though I was only 7 at the time).

Copeland is one of the greats imo.
But TBF sting has done some great stuff (but not the album with Shaggy!!) and he did write “hung my head” which was covered superbly by Jonny Cash and is still one of my favourite…[Read more]

Fat White Family were darn good last night in that there London. Well worth the train faff of getting there and the flippin great hang over I have at work today.
Actually really like the venue also which was earth in Dalston (hackney). It was much better than earlier described on here but perhaps the band were better suited to the venue? Anyway..…[Read more]

  • donks replied to the topic Commuting on the regents canal in the forum Bike Forum 1 month ago

Don’t live in London or cycle the regents but I do use the grand Union in Milton Keynes and I find I have to ditch it in the winter as it turns to slop and I get caked in mud… Something to consider maybe?

  • donks replied to the topic What's good in messenger bags? in the forum Chat Forum 2 months ago

Ooh… I like those life behind bars bags…. Pretty much like the YNOT junction I have but for less cash.
Also really like the mission Work shop bags and might have to get rid of my collection of Timbuktu and crumpler bags and purchase one…. Bit of a messenger bag fiend tbh.
I quite liked the crumplers as they sat well on the back when cycling…[Read more]

I love my YNOT messenger which has a cracking strap plus a cobra buckle for easy release and is very tough…. Again, not cheap though and very much cut for cycling.

I thought it was ok. Thought the imperial baddie was a good character and the bounty droid was quite a handful. Just hope it’s not all to lightweight and formulaic though as I can’t see it being especially dark or graphic.

Miles Davis was known as Satchmo because he had a little satchel round his neck which was full of cannabis which he would consume every day.

    Crisps
    Abelour whisky
L’Epee (french band I think) but almost definitely something to do with the Brian Jones town Masacre.
