This would be my biggest consideration. I have a bunch of old 26″ bikes, they work fine but none of them have tapered steerers so it’s impossible to find decent forks any more.

Last time I looked Suntour still did some that were a decent comparison to the better forks available when 1 1/8th and 26” were standard.

My 5 year old loves Hotwheels. My advice would be track and car based sets rather than fancy looking things. He loves chucking cars down a track, really likes the (expensive) battery operated loop the loop when I can afford to replace the batteries but hardly ever asks about the elaborate (and expensive!) shark car wash thing. Looks ace, does very…[Read more]

I was told it could be streamed from a ipad, iphone, etc to telly via Apple TV. Duff information?

  • Egress is lovely 🙂 Do it! DOOO EEEEEET…

Yes, yes they are. Back in the early 2000’s I went through a vintage Tamiya collecting phase and had about five Egress at one point including a new built one.

  • I’m trying really hard to resist the temptation to ask Santa for a re-issue Egress now they’ve come down a bit!

This stuff thats come out today is about as surprising as when we all found out George Michael was gay.

My girlfriend at the time and her Mum burst in to tears when the news broke. Me laughing and wondering why they hadn’t worked it out sooner didn’t seem to go down too well!

Ford Kuga? We had one for 5 years from new and it was great. Tested a Quashqai at the time but preferred the Ford. My nephew has just got a Yeti and it seems solid enough but a bit smaller inside than I expected, especially in the back and boot.

If you want better value then look at MPV’s like Scenic, C-Max, Grand Picasso etc. No one wants them…[Read more]

  • chestrockwell replied to the topic Sonos or? in the forum Chat Forum 1 week ago

Listening to my Play1 now. Had it a few years and think it’s ace and after a few early clitches it’s been faultless. We use it via the Sonos ap usually with either Spotify or Radioplayer.

  • As above, I find my Garmin watch pretty accurate on the treadmill.

Phil556 – This was my exact thought process, the low BIK rates from next year are making it very attractive.

Same here. When I test drove back in the spring the figures didn’t quite add up but from April I should be able to get the i3s with a few extras, fully maintained, tyres, insurance and taxed for £280ish. That’s not far what it ul…[Read more]

Is the 120ah the newest one with the stated 150ish mile range? If so you should be okay providing you stick to the speed limits.

I had the 100/120 mile i3s for a weekend and found it pretty much gave the range it told you when you first got in. I found it handy that it would immediately tell you how A/C etc affected the range by dropping 10/20…[Read more]

  • I’d make sure you test all the options you consider. Everyone seems to rave about the Golf but every time I’ve been in one I have been underwhelmed. Noisy in the back too.

Walk around any new estate. 20pc of those properties will be rented “affordable” housing. Guess which houses are the ones with the garden looking a state and with a sofa dumped on the front lawn and guess which ones are pretty well looked after.

They built a new estate in the field that backs on to my garden. Amongst the £500/600k detached hous…[Read more]

Like them. I’m in the market and had expected to go CAT but will have a look at these. Ta OP.

  • I’ve heard Winstons is delightful.

    Wince.

Leeds is usually pretty easy to get in to via car outside of rush hour. Plenty of hotels including many mentioned on the south side of the station that are easily accessible from the M621. We stayed at the Double Tree where the Sky Bar is and it was decent enough.

Just read the obituary above. A lovely, moving piece, so obviously from the heart. Thank you.

    Very much this.

I had a i3s for the weekend and absolutely loved it. I was also concerned about range but soon realised what it offered covered pretty much all of my day to day driving. For various reasons I didn’t end up pulling the trigger but having checked the price through work last week after hearing about the 0% BIK tax and that brings the price down to no…[Read more]
